Angel Spirit Girl 07-30-2011 09:01 AM

I am only at about 160 battle so far.

I hope we get plenty of extra time to get jewels -- especially since the server has been too busy to let me in earlier this morning.

EXACTLY! =D More so Star Wars though, I forgot about the Revolution. I'm such an unpatriot like that -headdesk-

I guess you get free avatar art...tomorrow. -is about to leave for a couple hours- I'm going to be careful about making such an offer when You might spot it Coda xD You are too smart for you own good. :p

Coda 07-30-2011 11:46 AM

*laughs a bit* Don't worry about it. I don't need any avatar art -- my wife used to be one of the staff artists here so I can get art when I want it.

Looks like I'm a little late o:
Humm, this might take a while xD

Nommy 08-11-2011 11:31 AM

it's stupid question but can i ask when does this event end? and are all the event items in the 'event shop' now? i'm worry a bit 'cuz i wanna buy enough event item before they're gone ^^'

Coda 08-11-2011 11:42 AM

Well, don't blow all of your jewels yet. There are more items that will be added before the end of the event.

Sadrain 08-11-2011 12:08 PM

of jewels? You must be joking. Or i really hope you are.

Sadrain 08-11-2011 12:09 PM

I honestly don't see why you force people to fight so much for them to even get one set of items (due to 240+ jewels needed for one set). While they battle, they most likely will NOT post, and that doesn't add to site's activity at all.

Coda 08-11-2011 12:25 PM

Yes, jewels, but it'll be cheaper than the items that are up there now. I'm actually going to put them up for preorder in the next couple of days so you can start buying them; the bundles just won't unpack until the items are done.

Alexander Linden 08-11-2011 12:26 PM

This is exciting! xD

O.o really? I post and fight at the same time, I don't find it any more difficult than IMing and posting really.

and I'm glad I saw this post about mroe stuff coming out...I shall save the jewels I have and be prepared!

Sadrain 08-11-2011 12:51 PM

Well, if I fight, I battle equally on 3 accounts at the same time, with resized windows, because waiting for one account battle takes so long, so, in the end, there is not much else I can do, and even when there is just one window, and another for chatting, it still takes lot of attention. Not everyone is such a great multitasker.

Coda 08-11-2011 12:55 PM

Most people don't do that, though. The stats show we DO have more people active and posting, so it seems most people do a battle, go post during the cooldown, and then go battle again, rather than trying to juggle between multiple battle accounts.

Sadrain 08-11-2011 01:01 PM

But still, it s a little overboard - over 500 battles for one set of items?
And in this limited time? You guys really don't know how to balance things out - either you go overboard on one end, or at the other. But that is just my opinion, and as such, I express it.

EDIT: What I mean is... Fighting is nice and all, but it is not fun when it is turned into a work. Where I have to work hard and restlessly to gain an event set or two.

Coda 08-11-2011 01:10 PM

Purchase history seems to bear out that we were right in balancing it this way. Lots of people have full sets of jewel items now, some people even have multiples. They're more rare than previous sets, but that is exactly the intent. Overall we actually haven't had all that many complaints -- mostly a handful of hoarders that are upset that they can't get multiple sets to have both items for personal use and items for later sale. That's okay with us. These are items we expect to rise in price quickly after the event ends. That's okay with us.

We're seeing more sustained activity with this event than we've seen with any event in the past, and it isn't trailing off like the Taskal War did. I interpret this as meaning that people care enough about these items enough to keep trying for them even though they're harder to get. People aren't seeing the costs and giving up; people are seeing the costs and working to achieve them. This was exactly the effect we were hoping for.

In other words, the reality of what's actually happened is showing that we were right about doing things this way, because it's going exactly according to plan.

Actually, if you're good at keeping track it could take as few as 300 battles for a full set, and you yourself haven't even fought 500 battles according to the leaderboard.... I've fought twice that many and have had enough for three full sets.

I've actually enjoyed this fight system, and I hope to see it in future events :)
