I'll send you bonbons

Biomecha 11-05-2019 11:35 PM

Why bonbons?

mdom 11-06-2019 06:48 PM

To add sugar in your life!

Biomecha 11-06-2019 08:04 PM

Bon bons hardly last that long though. Actually, I don't think I've ever had one. Or are they just another name for truffles?

mdom 11-06-2019 10:13 PM

Hm, at least here they're less fancy than truffles.

Let me show you:

Ew, those are the cheap candies with filler ingredients that aren't worth the calories. It looks like bon bons are slightly different than truffles. Like more filling and less chocolate coating.

mdom 11-06-2019 11:33 PM

don't call my candies cheap!!! they're expensive xDD not as expensive as truffles, of course, but I can't get a box that often

Biomecha 11-06-2019 11:59 PM

I never get truffles either, they're too pricey for the amount you get.

mdom 11-07-2019 11:25 AM

I eat the homemade ones
like when people want to get more money for their household and start doing uhhh bake sales
but instead of bake sales they sell truffles here

Biomecha 11-07-2019 05:26 PM

Do you ever come across unique recipes?

The closet thing to that here might be at the farmer's market.

mdom 11-07-2019 05:35 PM

I'd have to cook myself heheh. But people like to do coconut and passion fruit a lot.

Biomecha 11-07-2019 08:05 PM

Ohh, those sound nice. Passion fruit is kind of tart, right? I wind up never trying it because of the seediness.

mdom 11-07-2019 09:40 PM

In the sourness scale it's less than lemon, but much more than orange xD My family likes the taste though.

Biomecha 11-07-2019 11:25 PM

That sounds like it might be good. I think they use it a lot in Bake Off as well. But might be the sort of thing that works better when used with other things if I remember correctly?

mdom 11-07-2019 11:37 PM

My sister loves it as a juice (with tons of sugar of course) but yeah, as a dessert with chocolate it's very good! Also I find the name in English super weird because we don't call it 'fruta da paixão', we call it 'maracujá', which is probably some native word.

Biomecha 11-07-2019 11:52 PM

With chocolate would probably be awesome.

What's even more strange is the oil from it is popular in skincare, but they usually refer to the maracuja name.
