It's become a bit of a habit for them to extend deadlines. While it is mostly advantageous to us users in some way, it shows how inefficient things are on the back end of the site.

Yeah, I noticed that as well. And for users like us who can post a lot, it gives us a chance to get a ton of event items...though we totally would rather trade 'em in for paw print points. XD
