trystan830 11-27-2019 11:43 PM

i'm just easily amused ;)

Tam I am 11-27-2019 11:47 PM

LMBO. Me too.

trystan830 11-27-2019 11:50 PM

heh, awesome :)

Tam I am 11-28-2019 12:07 AM

I had too much fun this week while I was getting my teeth cleaned, and wound up choking on the rinse water and nearly wetting myself.

trystan830 11-28-2019 12:10 AM

o.O

that doesn't sound like much fun at all....

Tam I am 11-28-2019 12:18 AM

I was amused at my own derp. It wasn't a bad choke. lol

trystan830 11-28-2019 12:21 AM

ah, well, okay then

Tam I am 11-28-2019 12:24 AM

One side effect of untreated childhood asthma was me developing the ability to NOT choke myself to death even after I've snorted water. ...Or rice. >.>

trystan830 11-28-2019 12:27 AM

oh that's interesting.

Tam I am 11-28-2019 12:38 AM

Yeeeahhh. lol I'm just glad I rarely have to use it anymore.

trystan830 11-28-2019 12:43 AM

well that's good then :)

Tam I am 11-28-2019 01:11 AM

Did you learn anything weird as a kid?

trystan830 11-28-2019 01:46 AM

hmm.... probably. but danged if i remember what all it was.... ;)

Tam I am 11-28-2019 04:00 AM

Like, burping the alphabet, or making poot sounds with your hands, or...

Stabbsworth 11-28-2019 10:06 AM

bonjour fellow humans, it is i, a fellow human.

also humans aren't supposed to be able to breathe and swallow at the same time. trying to do that will make you choke on your own saliva.

trystan830 11-28-2019 04:13 PM

nope, Tam, i didn't do any of those. i would have gotten a look from my mom. XD

hullo, void, fellow hooman

Tam I am 11-28-2019 11:13 PM

Dunno if I've ever tried to breath and swallow at the same time, but I seem to be good at inhaling water through the back of the pipe.

LOL! A look would have stopped you?

trystan830 11-28-2019 11:29 PM

well, knowing my mom, she would have sent me to my room.

she was kinda ... proper

i mean, she still kinda is....

Tam I am 11-29-2019 01:36 AM

Ahhhh. Awesome you had a mom like that.

Merskelly Metalien 11-29-2019 01:46 AM

*pops in*
When I was a kid,
I learned how to make an origami snapper. <x] And it's the only origami I know how to do. <u<; I did not learn to fold anything else. Most kids learn a boat or a crane...me...it was this thing.

Tam I am 11-29-2019 02:37 AM

I don't think I've ever seen that critter before. I started with the hat/boat too, and then learnt the "fortune teller" but that doesn't look like a "fortune teller". That looks like my plastic canvas barf bird.

trystan830 11-29-2019 05:18 PM

i can make a cup, boat, fortune teller thing, box, crane.... i had a book on origami when i was a kid

the critter looks familiar to me, but i don't know why

Tam I am 11-29-2019 07:40 PM

I can do hat, boat, cicada, samurai, ... without a pattern. I used to have a goldfish, but I've lost that and a turtle.

trystan830 11-29-2019 07:46 PM

ah cool! the ones i posted i can do without a pattern. (although it's been a while since i made the cup and boat....

somewhere i have an origami pattern for the Millenium Falcon :)

Tam I am 11-29-2019 08:01 PM

Duuuuude!

I have a colouring book that you can make origami animals out of. The fox and the cat are really neat.

trystan830 11-29-2019 08:03 PM

oh, that sounds pretty cool!

Tam I am 11-30-2019 02:02 AM

*nod nod!* Some of the patterns in it are pretty complex... at least compared to the kid designs that I know by heart. LOL

! Oops! I kinda lied! <x'D Forgot I knew how to make the fortuneteller thing too! :]

trystan830 11-30-2019 05:06 PM

totally agree about some of the patterns being complex!

i also used to know how to fold a note so it had a tab to pull that would open the whole thing up.

Den 11-30-2019 08:08 PM

I know how to fold a lotus...

trystan830 12-01-2019 01:20 AM

well that's cool - i've never made a lotus before

Tam I am 12-01-2019 07:08 PM

Oh wow. Is that complex, Den?

Oh that's cool. And I remember now, I used to know how to make a throwing star, too. And throw it.

Den 12-02-2019 05:10 PM

Not as complex as a crane, tbph.

Tam I am 12-03-2019 01:52 AM

Neat. I don't think I've seen that one. Or if I did, menopause has lost the file.

Den 12-03-2019 10:31 PM

This is a good tutorial for the lotus, and here is a tutorial for the leaves.

ETA: Here's a more complex Lotus: https://www.paperkawaii.com/modular-...ideo-tutorial/

this is super cool. i've never actually sit down and learned origami.

recently i saw an origami bird in Frozen 2. it looked very real even though it was animated.

Tam I am 12-04-2019 05:22 PM

*clicks links*

I feel like my period not only snuck up on me, but bashed me in the head with Reinhardt's hammer.

Lawtan 12-06-2019 10:20 PM

*offers some food, warm tea, and a blanket to Tam*

daikokunyo 12-08-2019 07:14 AM

//gets hot water bags ready

Tam I am 12-08-2019 10:29 PM

Foooood, blankie! Um. I better not have the tea though. Thanks, guys. The worst of that mess is over for now, but now I'm facing a big hole in my memory of Saturday. I remember going to the fish shop at the farmers' market, and placing my order, then talking to the person behind the counter. Today, I have no fish, and no memory of anything at the fish shop after what I just mentioned.
