Dude is it hard to work with? I am really wanting to do a cosplay with armor ><
Nah, it's actually quite easy as long as you can mold it over something, you just need a heat gun (I got mine for like 10$) to make it smoother than you mold it over something (it can be a coat on your shoulders, a wig head, s cola bottle, anything really lol). But if you make an armor, perhaps you can do the 'main outfit' out of craft foam first though, and make the parts that may need more 'backup' (as those who may break or need to look really solid) out of wonderflex... And if your armor have a 'leathery look', use pleather over your craft foam and just paint it with acrylic paint + medium for fabric mixed in it, that's what I did with WoL ^^
@Dragoness: Thanks ^^ Though I'm missing a couple of posters, two fell down (one behind my librairy desk, no way am I getting it for now xD), and I have an empty spot were I'm supposed to put my Sesshomaru+Rin+Jaken poster lol. |
Oh thank you for the tip : )
You have the same Sephy wall scroll that I have! Mine stares at me when I sleep.
Also, BAM just got some money from me, so my copy of Black Butler vol.5 is being shipped out as I type! I can barely contain all the joy I'm feeling right now!!! |
@Rey: Lol! Oh hey wait a sec... mine is staring at me too when I'm sleeping now that you make me notice it... O_O
And cool!!! Personally I'm still waiting to get a permanent job to by the next Trinity Blood volumes, apparently SPOILER! lol And no prob Demo, glad I could help ^^ Oh, for gluing pleather over pleather or something over pleather, use shoe goo, it takes a day to dry but it's the only thing so far that I found that actually sticks to pleather, even superglue and contact ciment don't O_O |
I like to think he's watching over me, slashing all the bad dreams into a billion tiny pieces ^-^
Oh I will definately remember that!
@Rey: Ohhh, good idea, I may try to think that as well so I won't wake up in the middle of the night wondering if he'll stab me xD
You mean gorilla glue won't work? For the shoes, I mean.
Uh well for shoes I don't know, and for pleather neither, I haven't try that type of glue... I have tried:
Hot glue (low AND high temp) Superglue Contact Cement Industrial contact glue (from my uncle who works in car parts thingie) Industrial double side tape Shoegoo works well though...It takes a day but it stays there at least ^^; |
Ah. I just asked because I use Gorilla Glue whenever I'm doing small repairs around the house and re-binding old hardback textbooks that are falling apart. That kind takes a couple hours to dry, and you have to keep pressure on whatever it is you're gluing because it foams to get into little crevices.
Ah ok, similar to shoegoo then ^^
Pleather is a nightmare to glue, at first hot glue seems to work but a couple of hours later it comes undone @_@ |
I love how cosplayers can figure out how to make things with the oddest materials XD
XD
Ya indeed, my Millenium Necklace (Bakura/Mahaado) was made out of some hardware tubing for house, some hot glue, a plastic ring from some tie hook whatnot, a dollorama brown cord, some old orange boxes wood, some sculpy/fimo and some metal rings that you screw in the walls etc to hang stuff on xD |
Nice! That certainly works XD I made the decorative buckles for my len append cosplay out of boxes I made from shoebox cardboard XD
