*attacks fey with shovel so she can steal stuff*

Fey 08-31-2011 12:59 AM

LMAO if you ask I'd totally let you raid the fabric. a friend just got her first house and I gave her an extra machine and all the fabric she wanted...and it STILL didn't dent the collective.

littl3chocobo 08-31-2011 01:06 AM

where do you live? *does not want to admit she literally drooled a little*

Fey 08-31-2011 01:11 AM

Colorado, Nikko lives about two miles from me LOL and you can come drool on my fabric any time ;)

littl3chocobo 08-31-2011 01:14 AM

*falls on face* missiouri, too far away.....blegh!

oh, and i just speed uploaded some of my new, unsorted, pics, want to see what i do? it's not exactly cosplay but meh

Fey 08-31-2011 01:15 AM

sure! I'd love to see :)
and missouri's not that far...it's halfway between here and the east coast, so closer than I plan to go for my next out of state con LOL

:: puts in her memory card to upload a few pictures::
the hell...why is there music on my camera's memory card...? O.o

the dress is heavilly modded to fit a doll almost a third the size of the rabbit it came on and the skirt was bought, i felt kinda bad about putting needles in it after i saw the resulting shots hahaha, you cannot see anything^^:

i have fully made outfits too on my dolfie dev

Fey 08-31-2011 01:24 AM

O.O
gaaaaaaaah, doll-thing!
::covers face::
the clothes are very pretty...but you can ask nikko..the doll things sorta freak me out a bit...

littl3chocobo 08-31-2011 01:27 AM

oh^^: well shoot, then you don't want to see the wedding dress? you can see eyes in that one^^: *has a doll phobia too*

Kyp 08-31-2011 01:28 AM

heya peeps.
@_@ Been drawing all day. Kinda need a break.
I miss cosplaying and it's only been one month since Otakon.
I want to do steampunk for next year. Maybe going with a boiler punk theme

Fey 08-31-2011 01:28 AM

I'd love to see anything you want to put picture up of...I just won't look at their faces.

NikkoGallarado 08-31-2011 01:29 AM

I have a EGA Steam Punk slowly being worked on, but right now I am stuck in a J-rock and Visual Kei cosplay thing. My next cosplay is to be Sasuke in cyber J-rock cosplay.

www.littledolfie.deviantart.com

'he' actually, i'm too poor for a girl^^:

you don't want to most of what i make is one-use-only meaning most of it is held together with glue and velcro and gravity hahahaha~ the back of that outfit was mutilated to heck and back^^:

Kyp 08-31-2011 01:32 AM

Ah... I actually have no idea what you said ^_^;;;
Ok, so I'm not a very good steampunk otaku yet but this is my first year really getting into it.
I went to the panel on the different kinds of steampunk and it's history. It was a kind of vague panel but very inspiring anyways.
My friend wants to go as an ariel/captain type steampunk and my other more of a gothic-lolita clockwork.

Fey 08-31-2011 01:32 AM

I need to update and finish off my steampunk...just lacking the motivation to do the leathrework....

Kyp 08-31-2011 01:33 AM

Do any of you know where I can find clockwork gears in different large sizes? I've been looking everywhere and am having no luck

NikkoGallarado 08-31-2011 01:33 AM

OKay EGL and EGA are short terms used for lolita look. EGL = Elagent Gothic Lolita, EGA Elagent Gothic Aristacrat.

Fey 08-31-2011 01:34 AM

you'd do well to search for grandfather clock gears or go to a local clock repair shop. ebaying it will get expensive fast

Kyp 08-31-2011 01:35 AM

OoooOoooh. Makes a lot more sense.
Then my friend is going as an EGL-clockwork

Fey 08-31-2011 01:37 AM

and choco, those're all very pretty! I don't have the patience to work on that scale, though I did make masks for 'em a couple years ago for an artist alley...they sold poorly so most still live in my sewing space LOL

littl3chocobo 08-31-2011 01:37 AM

*gets lost fast in the talk of steampunk*

and i don't have the paitence for full sized people hahaha~ two foot minimum for me all the way though i had a friend who let me practice on her all the same^^; i was rather agressive hahahahaha

Kyp 08-31-2011 01:38 AM

Gah! If real gears are this expensive I might as well get some sheetmetal and find something that will cut it!
Cause I need at least 50 gears for her costume @_@ I'm not paying 20 dollars or more per gear!

Fey 08-31-2011 01:41 AM

yeeeeeeah, real gears are gonna be more expensive than you want. I tend to make mine out of resin, so I can get them all the same, then just paint them.

and I think that smaller takes more patience choco, I mean, I mess up on my skirt it's a tiny flaw, I mess up on one that size and it's a complete loss!

Kyp 08-31-2011 01:43 AM

I've not worked with Resin before. Is it toxic?

littl3chocobo 08-31-2011 01:44 AM

but for every 100 stitches you make i only have to do thirty, and that is if i stich at all, lots of times i can make a false stich on my machine then glue the parts together, other than limits to patterd and ribbon types(for scaling it has to /look/ appropriatly scaled) i have little to worry about, and besidedes i can sew right onto the model and not have to worry about tearing

do you have pics of the masks?

Fey 08-31-2011 01:45 AM

O.o
only if you eat it.
go to a hobby lobby or other hobby store and look for amazing cast resin sets. you'll need the amazing resin mold to make the original cast(I make the originals out of either found parts or clay), then just mix up the resin per the instructions and you can start popping them out fast.

Here's a few of the masks, I think I have thirty or so left, these are just the ones i liked enough to photograph http://fav.me/d2jgw17

Kyp 08-31-2011 01:51 AM

Looks like I'll have to look into it... someday.
Maybe I can add it to my christmas wishlist, lol

Fey 08-31-2011 01:52 AM

it's not that pricey...for both you'll be set back $40, and if you do get it at hobby lobby you can get coupons that'll cut that in half.

Kyp 08-31-2011 01:54 AM

For how tight money is for me atm, 40 dollars is a lot and 20 is still too much. But Otakon is still a year away. I should get started at halloween though. Good time to go costume shopping.

Anyways must hit they hay. Night peeps!

Fey 08-31-2011 01:55 AM

night, and good luck :)
oh snap, just noticed the time, I'm off as well, tomorrow all(in four minutes LOL)

littl3chocobo 08-31-2011 02:02 AM

they are plain, if you dressed them up they'd prolly sell

oh nighty-night then^^:

Fey 08-31-2011 10:16 AM

LOL 'plain'? I'm assuming you mean they don't have lace or sparkly bits. Trust me, I'm not planning to do more of these, many I had to pain with the head of a pin the details got so tiny.

littl3chocobo 08-31-2011 10:17 AM

lace, sparkly bits feathers fur, guilding and detailing^^: no doubt it was prolly hard for you though haha

Fey 08-31-2011 10:21 AM

I looked at it this way, it was something else I could make with the left over bits LOL my main sellers at that con were my crowns, and I made a mint off 'em

littl3chocobo 08-31-2011 10:24 AM

oh? any pics of those?

Fey 08-31-2011 10:30 AM

they're in the same deviant art account...one moment...http://fav.me/d2bukdu and http://fav.me/d2buk43 are the two 'demo' model I have up...really should up the one silver one I've done....
aaaand on that note, off to work, bbl :)

littl3chocobo 08-31-2011 10:36 AM

oh wow^^ if i had the stuff to match it i'd buy hahaha

Aiko 08-31-2011 12:20 PM
