LOL Hoop skirt and drawers would work better for warms, I think. The wind might whistle under the little tent no matter how many layers it is.

Not on MY head!

...Wait. Are you talking about my head? Or Weird's head? *points to avatar* Because I don't have enough hair for a nest.

LOL

Den 01-30-2018 09:09 PM

actually, flannel petticoats were a thing for winter way back then. as were chemise and drawers sets.

Tam I am 01-31-2018 10:00 PM

Right. I forgot they'd run around in wool underwear in the middle of summer.

...That sounds absolutely terrible.

NikkoGallarado 02-01-2018 03:36 AM

*peeks into the thread* there are others here...

Espy 02-01-2018 04:10 AM

Yee. Kind of late at night, though.

NikkoGallarado 02-01-2018 04:58 AM

Hahaha, I always arrive late that's nothing new. It happened in the past, remember?

actually, they had a lot more different weights of wool than we do nowadays. Also, cotton was an option, as was linen and silk, and those three might have been more commonly worn in the summer. *historical clothing nerd*

Tam I am 02-01-2018 11:36 PM

Really? From what I read the Victorians thought that only wool underwear was healthy.

Den 02-01-2018 11:51 PM

Linen was common for a lady's chemise and drawers, but the petticoat was what would keep her warm in England during the Victorian era, and in parts of the United States in that era as well. Plus, high fashion dictated what the various classes of society wore. The more money one had, the nicer the material, and the fancier the petticoat.

The webs shall fall to silence,
The books shall be returned,
All glitter rains in gladness,
As the winds of lore now churn.

The maps shall fly in madness,
The ship shall turn a-stern,
All reason fail and sadness,
At the dragon-queen's return!

Welcome, all, back to Lawtan's Library. Thank you all for keeping it going while I was gone for some time. How have you all been doing?

*Goes about offering strawberry ghosts to everyone*

Happy 31 Days of Halloween, by the way!

mdom 10-08-2018 12:55 PM

*eats a strawberry ghost, or five*

Welcome back, Lawtan!!!

Lawtan 10-08-2018 03:35 PM

*giggles*

Thanks, mdom! I'm glad to be back!

*momentarily turns the library upside down to shake out the dust bunnies*

mdom 10-08-2018 06:43 PM

Oh no D:
don't destroy them!

Death by Mirrors 10-08-2018 06:48 PM

*collects all the dust bunnies in a box, writes "plot bunnies" on it and sends it over into the NaNoWriMo thread*

Lawtan 10-08-2018 09:32 PM

*turns the library rightside-up*

That ought to do it. :)

Oh, and yes - those bunnies love to collect tales (and tails, but that's another story)

trystan830 10-08-2018 10:09 PM

*shoos away plot bunnies* i already have enough, thanks XD

Death by Mirrors 10-08-2018 10:18 PM

Leave them be. You're not the only writer over there :P

trystan830 10-08-2018 10:23 PM

yeah, you're right. *shoos them away from me and towards everyone elze*

mdom 10-09-2018 08:36 PM

More plot twist bunnies xD

Den 10-09-2018 08:42 PM

*dust mask on, will help reorganize everything*

Lawtan 10-10-2018 08:55 AM

*comes out with some diabolical machine made of horrors*

This should do nicely for polishing everything. That, or cut hair. One of the two.

mdom 10-10-2018 06:34 PM

It can polish hair. Make it look shiny!

Lawtan 10-10-2018 10:20 PM

Brilliant! Now, where did I keep that "wood to hair" spell...

Death by Mirrors 10-11-2018 04:16 PM

I could need a new style. How much for the diabolic machine to polish my hair?

Lawtan 10-11-2018 04:33 PM

Hmm...one soul, freshly plucked.

Death by Mirrors 10-11-2018 06:18 PM

Aw, damn. No soul to spare. I need them all for the upcoming Nox event.

Stabbsworth 10-12-2018 04:50 PM

can't wait for nox. seems like a good halloween event.

Lawtan 10-13-2018 08:29 AM

It is probably my favorite of Trisphee events <3

Stabbsworth 10-13-2018 09:10 AM

oh boy. if it's your favourite, it's probably gotta be good.

Lawtan 10-13-2018 04:59 PM

*The mired shelf of aged miscellanies growls and mumbles as it sleeps, dreaming of its days as a gast sprinting from shadow to shadow, granting random elements to each person's life*

Veshora 10-13-2018 06:38 PM

I really want to pet that shelf, but at the same time I do not want to disturb its slumber.

mdom 10-13-2018 07:40 PM

Different strokes for different folks, I want to hide immediately

Veshora 10-14-2018 04:24 AM

Why? To me the shelf looks more like an unconventional Santa than a half-sentient piece of serial killer furniture.
