@Logan: Its a normal defense for me to do. I did it to my friend in high school, who had his backpack on with all his text books... it wasn't a comfortable fall.

I'm pretty sure animal ears are going to come along eventually.

And the theme of Trisphee is science/fantasy-based. Pretty much anything is possible as an item. Animal ears/skins/tails could be written off as a "side effect to a scientific experiment" if we really wanted to justify them. Or a magic spell gone weird. Or anything.
