Hey, Law! What hairs are you using?

Lawtan 03-08-2014 12:43 AM

I'm using Wind Spirit and Dancing Flames.

>.> I just went overboard on adding references...I let my oldest favorite thing (Sailing/pirates) take command for a little while...
That entire new section is about 1/2 of my pirate/sailing knowledge (and some things I forgot/didn't know.)
I know likely some will consider pirates vile, but they were the one thing I really took to as a kid...perhaps because they were the exploratory, McGyvering rogues of the seas (and guys who had such eroded self control that they spent much money on booze and wenches...but I didn't know that as a kid).
Ironically, many pirates either became such by misfortune (William Kidd), or because the wars at sea ended, and like is often done with modern soldiers, the governments tried to take them off the ships and forget them.
Or they were actually captains/admirals from unrecognized hostile nations.

OMh - I ate too much.

Also. I'm puertorican, we invented rum. ARRRRRR....

Lawtan 03-08-2014 01:14 AM

<3 Fauxreal now...
Rum is a potential pallative to my migraines...

Fauxreal 03-08-2014 01:18 AM

One day when we all go to Puerto Rico, the Bacardi factory is there, and it is awesome!

Kilala Mikal 03-08-2014 02:00 AM

Never really knew that about pirates. I didn't really get into them until Pirates of the Caribbean came out... -_-' And even then I didn't really do any research. That's nifty to know though.

And I'm all for the Puerto Rico trip, Faux, lol. I like me some Bacardi green apple rum.

Fauxreal 03-08-2014 02:22 AM

The fort in Puerto Rico, El Morro, is the inspiration for the original ride at Walt Disney World.

<3

And I love the store for Baracadi, has so many bat themed items! (They are good luck you know!)

Kilala Mikal 03-08-2014 02:28 AM

Totally didn't know any of that, lol.

Lawtan 03-08-2014 02:55 AM

Wait, I thought that Trains were the original inspiration of the idea for Disneyland...
Disney wanted for a magical train to take people across fairyland/cultural places "around the world"...

Kilala Mikal 03-08-2014 12:43 PM

Faux is correct.

"The attraction, guarded by the Caribbean watchtower Torre del Sol, is housed in a golden Spanish fort called Castillo Del Morro, inspired by Castillo de San Felipe del Morro in the Old San Juan in San Juan."

I went scoping out the attraction, and it makes me want to go to Disney even more now. O.o I've never been before. >.<'

(Also, Link to my info. Maybe you could start a theme park history section? *shifty glance*)

Lawtan 03-08-2014 01:43 PM

Wait - Disney World...I was thinking Disneyland

Kilala Mikal 03-08-2014 02:20 PM

I know there's a difference between the two, but I can never remember which one is in California and which is in Florida... >.>'

Fauxreal 03-08-2014 02:50 PM

World = Florida Land = California.

I used to work in the one in Florida. <3

Lawtan 03-08-2014 03:00 PM

Disneyland was Walt's original dream - to make a place for children and adults to be happy - completed in his "prime"

Disney World was his way to both make another Disneyland and a way to improve/teach the world...and the plab was just about complete on his deathbed.

<3 Disney.
Law's favorite Historical people: Disney, Einstein, Da Vinci, Socrates, Taliesin, Tesla/Edison...

Kilala Mikal 03-08-2014 03:55 PM

Oh wow, Faux. What did you do there? O.o

And that's really interesting Law. *nod nod*

Fauxreal 03-08-2014 04:11 PM

Law, I'd say my historical hero is Jim Henson.

Also, Law, you could be a guide at Disney!

I worked in Cosmic Rays Starlight Cafe, I did almost every job there. I also worked at Disney Quest. Which was sooo fun!
