Hmmm, I forgot about this thread today...
Oh well, hello to everyone who's still around ^^;

Fey 07-21-2011 11:08 PM

I'm sorta more a bizarre cylinder than a round...but hiiiiiiiiiiii

Nefer 07-21-2011 11:12 PM

@Fey: xD Hiiii to you too lol!

Fey 07-21-2011 11:18 PM

I am posting like a crazed ferret tonight, nice to see someone new on to yammer at! how're you tonight?

Nefer 07-21-2011 11:20 PM

Lol, I see! Want to have a last pearls earning raid I take it? xD

And I am doing fine, just a bit tired ^^; You?

Fey 07-21-2011 11:24 PM

actually no, i've got what I've wanted out of the pearls, now I need monies for other things! soooooooo much money...
Tired too, but that's pretty typical in my world. seriously ADD right now trying to figure out what I should be doing...but this is so much easier than actually moving from my desk....

Nefer 07-21-2011 11:28 PM

Ah ok I see, aurums hunting! Kinda same here I guess ^^;

And lol for the desk comment, I know how it is, my computer is in my bedroom and I usually need to kick myself to go work on something in the kitchen because I can't bring my comp there and keep a watch on my emails ^^;

Fey 07-21-2011 11:31 PM

yeeeeeeeeeah, mine is upstairs, all my projects are downstairs...and the sewing/craft room is below that...so that's a lot of stairs to convince myself I should go down/up

Nefer 07-21-2011 11:33 PM

Urg...that when you wish you had a laptop lol.

Fey 07-21-2011 11:40 PM

not really, most people I know with them tend to go through laptops like water, at least I know my desktop will last a loooooooooot longer

Nefer 07-21-2011 11:44 PM

@Fey: Hmmmm...ya, but having both would be perfect xD

Fey 07-21-2011 11:45 PM

well yes, but then if we're going there I'd also want an embriodery machine, a souped up computer with double monitors, and a gazillion gaming systems LOL What is the saying, if wishes were horses...beggars would ride.

Nefer 07-21-2011 11:47 PM

Lol!
Hmmm...embroidery sewing machine...that's something I want to buy after getting a full time job lol! And a second monitor for my computer...I miss not havng a 2nd one, I got used to it at the job xD Though for the gaming systems...I'm fine with my PS2 for the time been, I still need to finish far too many games anyway xD

Fey 07-21-2011 11:53 PM

I want an x-box for a couple of games, but it's reaaaaaaaally hard to validate since I've got a ps2 and rarely if ever play it. And I want an embriodery machine sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo bad...but since the one I want is 8k I think I'll probably never fulfill that wish.

Nefer 07-21-2011 11:55 PM

Oh my...Ok ya, it...expensive O_O The one I want is about 1k so it's not that bad and also sew so I could buy it as my main sewing machine at the same time...

Fey 07-21-2011 11:57 PM

well the reason the one I want is so expensive is because it comes with software to design anything you want, so since I do a looooooooooot of cosplay it would be ideal to be able to program in patterns and patches to be perfect matches.

Nefer 07-21-2011 11:59 PM

You can buy the software for 200$ I tihnk and it fits even with the 800$ machine ^_~ Because I want it too lol.

Though...it's probably not the same software, the one I'm talking about you need to make your pattern in vector then it switches it for the embroidery machine (but since I'm used to Photoshop Image Ready because of my flash courses I don't mind it ^^; )

Fey 07-22-2011 12:06 AM

hmmmmmmmmm, really? this might make it feasable to get one in the next year...do you by chance recall the name of the software? I can learn to vector if need be....

Nefer 07-22-2011 12:14 AM

I believe it's called PE-Design when it's a brother embroidery machine...it's around 250+shipping via ebay, stores it really depends on your store...

Fey 07-22-2011 12:17 AM

hmmmmm, I shall make note of this and go find out if it's really compatible with the machines I could afford...if so I will owe you a kidney or something.

Nefer 07-22-2011 12:18 AM

xD
There are also other softwares, that's just the one I remember from the brothers flier lol. The women at the sewing department could probably also refer you to some good software, sometimes the cheapest ones can still do the trick, since you don't want all those random disney characters broderies etc for cosplay ^^;

Fey 07-22-2011 12:23 AM

ugh, no. but yeah, I tend to avoid them at the fabric stores because they all want to push me towards the huuuuuuge machines(that I've been informed even if I lick them the are NOT mine), hence why I thought I needed the big 8k one

Nefer 07-22-2011 12:26 AM

Ohhh, right...they always want to sell you the biggest of the biggest to make more money since they get a certain pourcentage per sell ^^;;; It depends on who you get of course, some of the women there are more helpful than the others ^^; I usually go see them, get all the info on their machine (even the cheaper ones), then go check on internet to be sure which one I'd like, then go see in other stores like Sears or even Costco to buy it ^^;

Fey 07-22-2011 12:31 AM

yeah, I've not seriously researched it in a while, but now that I know I might be able to get it...I think I'll do that and maybe next year for my b-day gift to me....thank you for the awesome info!

Nefer 07-22-2011 12:33 AM

No problem ^^
I find the 8-10k embroidery machines only useful for companies and the such, and even the ladies at our fabric store said the same thing, so ^^

Fey 07-22-2011 12:34 AM

well, I may still go with a 'butcher' machine sicne they would be able to survive a lot more work. I know a friends machine died after two years because it just couldn't take the work load.

Nefer 07-22-2011 12:36 AM

Oh boy...
Well, we have a good old metal sewing machine for all our 'big work' like pleather sewing etc, so it spares our new one a bit lol.
