So I'm not going to class today.
Apparently Obama is coming to my college campus, and they thought it would be a great idea NOT to cancel classes.
But um, all of the roads are blocked off around the campus, and traffic is insane.
Sooo, why try and fight my way through cops, secret service, and what-not to try and get to the one class that I have today? So yeah. Expect to see me floating around here a lot today. xD

Woo! With it being my last day off for basically a week, I'm trying to stay up as long as possible, maybe I shouldn't have had a beer at 7am though.

People should learn how to pick their fights/discussions

Rosekitten 09-08-2010 09:45 AM

o3o ~ish prodded~ yeesh?

Aiko - i know that feeling from another site I used to be on.. poor arguments aren't fun =/

Aiko 09-08-2010 09:49 AM

Rose: They definitely are not, and a whole day with them, drives me insane...

I mean in a matter where you just have to vote yes or no if YOU want something to be adopted by the school (since that's where I am) I don't want to hear 10 people's personal opinion on the matter, because I know what I want to vote, and I am sure the rest does too when they think about it really hard =_=;

Rosekitten 09-08-2010 09:51 AM

Ah that type of thing, yeah I remember that when I was in school lucky me we didn't vote on much. ~yay~ But yeah I'd go nuts too.. I tried just hanging out in the discussion threads on other sites.. I learned my lesson really fast that people can be hot tempered and flair up at the slightest disagreement to their thoughts. o.O;

But no for voting it's rather silly to hear people's personal thoughts on the matter.. it's a yes or not question and should be answered accordingly really.

Aiko 09-08-2010 09:55 AM

Rose: Exactly, I mean it's not because I am against democracy, I just don't want to hear everyone's personal reason, because really that doesn't concern me.

Also I am on a school where they're very into that we learn as much as possible about the democratic process.. and as I said, a lot people doesn't know how to pick their fights..

Rosekitten 09-08-2010 09:58 AM

Well it is school, over all I didn't get into that part of my class either when it came around ^^ truth be told I slipped by but I could at least pick my fights well enough.. though I didn't often only when someone said something just so off the wall that I couldn't help myself.

but I think it's a waste of class time to hear out 10 people's thoughts on a yes or not question. If it was something a bit more in depth then maybe. i get yes an no questions can be argued or debated but I don't think most students in school understand what type of argument that would be really. Let alone have a good speech to back up their thoughts about it.

Aiko 09-08-2010 10:01 AM

Rose: Yeah I know what you mean
I mean this was just people saying: I love this idea
I would have gotten to the same conclusion just by them voting yes...
I mean they should have asked if someone was really, really against it (for good reasons of course), and then just had let us vote on the matter =_=;
And I know we just started and we need to learn to know each other, but I thought stuff like this was obvious to most people

Rosekitten 09-08-2010 10:04 AM

Really I think that they should have just voted.. I mean most arguments are just glorified yes or no answers anyway in most cases. I mean if the votes came out to be a tie then hold a debate to try an sway people to one side or another.

Also you'd be surprised whats obvious an whats not to a lot of people ^^; there's a reason some of these warning signs on products exists you know.

Aiko 09-08-2010 10:06 AM

Rose: True, can't argue against that..
At least the more logic thinkers like us, have something to laugh about when we read those warnings, but somehow it's not funny that some people actually need them

I mean like: "Hot when taken out of oven"
I'd be really pissed if it wasn't lol, but some people apparently need to read this fact..
