It still got to me that people would come into Tom Hortons when I worked there and ask for Orange Spice, and then nab the orange pekoe after I told them we didn't have anything orange. Customers, for some reason, kept assuming we did.

Caffiene trick: apparently caffeine is the first thing to come out of a tea bag, so if you steep your tea for half a minute or so, most of the caffiene will come out. Toss that first bit, then make your tea with the same bag. :)
|
I never put anything in my tea. Should I?
Caffeine has never really affected me, besides the oh-crap-I-need-to-use-the-restroom-but-it's-only-fifteen-minutes-into-my-shift kind of thing on Saturday mornings at The Tech. |
Me neither really, though having many cups without water in between did not help my heart palpiations, but then, my pills weren't working terribly well either at the time.
I put milk and sugar in black teas, unless it's lemon black tea. I put milk and sugar in select herbal teas. I drink green and white teas straight. I use honey when there's nothing else around or when I just darn well feel like it. My favourite thing now is German Rock Sugar from Teavana, since it actually makes the tea taste a little different from regular sugar. Instead of making the tea taste sweet, it takes away the need for sugar. Kinda funny that way. I've become a sugar snob though. I don't use white sugar anymore. I use Taiko brand stuff, which I can only get at one grocery store chain around here, or raw if I must! |
Oh. Teavana. I don't think I ever got much from there besides the samples, ahahahaaaah...
I should go there again sometime. |
@kiddiss: I LOVE using tea. I'm not a huge fan of using sugar in my teas, but I will put a little bit of honey ^^
I hate Twinings tea. |
My favourite package kind is Mighty Leaf, but I'm too cheap to buy it regularly. Otherwise I usually go with Stash or Twinnings, depending on what I'm getting. Whenever I go to my clinic appointments every 4-6 months or so I stop by at the Pekoe store for leaf tea. I love their mango black. The Teavana is new, but pricey. David's Tea which I'm just forming an opinion on now is across town and not where I usually go so it may be a while before I can make an educated call. ;)
Not so fond of Tetly anymore, since I discovered my leaf teas, and not a fan of Numi either. Have some other miscallenous things around the house. Can't remember all of them though. Cousin gave me something from the "Urban Tea Merchant" which I have yet to try. I still wish we had the European lipton flavours here. -.- |
I like Lipton, Bigelow, Yogi, and Celestial Seasons. ^^ I do like other teas too. Depends though ^^ I have been meaning to go and expand my tea love ^^
|
Never been too fond of Bigelow. Celestial seasonings I like for my herbal tea, and their "Morning Thunder" which is a mix of yerba mate and black tea. I find yerba by itself is too much and makes me feel a little ill so I mix it with stuff anyway. Celestial Seasonings was the brand I started with. :)
Only tried two yogi's teas and liked them. Not sure about the Good Earth tea I got, but that could be because it's roobios. I got a gift certificate for a local tea store for my birthday! It's the only place that I can find my Russian Earl Grey tea! (besides the European Lipton flavour that is not available here. -,-) |
Oooo I wish I could get a gift certificate to a tea place :p
I like the Good Earth tea I have. ^^ It's not too bad. I should look into getting more leaf teas again and getting another tea ball (I lost mine in the move from the house I grew up in to the apartment my dad and I shared for a couple of years) |
Have you guys ever had Tazo?
|
Oh yeah! I remember Tazo, Starbucks has that :D
I love the Passion tea ^^ |
Can't believe I forgot that one. -.-
I get their chai, and their carton chai late is actually pretty good for a carton thing, and cheaper than Starbucks. Right now I have one of their whites. I like their "Awake" tea which I knicked off my sister, but it's like Mighty Leaf. It's not quite good enough that I'll pay the extra for it given my money woes. |
I should look into buying more teas ^^"

~Kat can once again enjoy the berry green tea- but will have to make it separately from the husband-creature's~ We both like the green tea iced, so he bought an iced tea maker. It's a handy device for making large quantities of tea to put in the fridge. I can just make myself a glass at a time using your anti-caffeine trick ^_~ Has anyone used Agave {sp?} Nectar as a sweetener? My Mom just told me about it last weekend. She said she uses it in just about anything you would use a sweetener from tea to baking. She's really watching her sugar levels (as should I) because her father died at only 48 from complications of diabetes. We both get our blood sugars checked at least once a year via the doctor's office... and my sugars came back high once. It freaked me out a bit until I remembered that I had eaten waffles with a bunch of syrup the morning of my blood draw LOL XD But, yeah, if anyone has tried Agave Nectar, what do you think about it? |
Heard of it but haven't tried it. Never thought to try it though. I tend to stick with what I know until someone stuff something into my face. Then I'll try it.
Kettle is done! *whoosh* |
