It's actually the reincarnation of a convention that was discontinued a few years ago called Jacon. The head guy behind Jacon got tired of all the planning and whatnot that goes into running a convention, but most of the rest of the committee still wanted to have a convention. Therefore, when the head guy pulled out and killed off Jacon, they got together and created their own convention.
