I actually asked Coda about them since I've never played them before, so I might be trying one out soon, but I have an art commission to work on first. x'D

RPG Maker Games

As a warning, close to half of them are horror, but it should be clear which ones those are. However, RPG Maker started out as something to make 8-bit Final Fantasy-like games, and has been used to make several Visual/Interactive Novels, so the games range from above awesome and thoughtful to...things that are written so poorly as to be a plausible reason to the madness of Lovecraft's Mythos.

It's just that the majority of games have developed issues - better graphics & gameplay translate to hotter computer processors and linear, done-to-death storylines. Multiplayer content takes away from Singleplayer. Free content either advertises, locks part of the game away, uses "pay to win", or uses "pay to customize"...

Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera...

Yeeeeup. Even with my very very limited experience I've noticed all that! And w00t, thanks for looking!

Among text-based RPGs I've tried Renaissance Kingdoms for a bit (I likedAztec Kingdoms, by the same developers, better but parts of it were still in French LOL) and one called Improbable Island looks interesting. Kingdom of Loathing I've heard a lot about but I'm afraid to try because it's supposed to be dead addictive.

It's pretty addictive, but it can also get repetitive really fast. It had a pretty good market system when I was there.

I've tried so many text MMORPGs. Never managed to stick to any.

LMBO. I love your gift of words, Law.

@Law
Bookmarked that page, but do I need an emulator to play those or do they just run like a regular PC game?

Lawtan 11-24-2014 08:56 PM

You need the RPG maker program to launch them...I forgot what the actual name is at the moment *blush*...I think it is called "RTP"...

I clicked some links and found places to download it, but I don't know if the trial one has a time limit thing, like the 30 days thing some companies do. If it's just limited features and able to play games without limit I'll be ecstatic. But if it's something I'll have to pay for to keep using I'll have to wait until I have a credit card or something set up for that. >.<

Lawtan 11-24-2014 10:03 PM

I think it is limited features...it's been a while...

ml1201 11-24-2014 10:11 PM

Well, either why I'm waiting until I have my own computer because its a pain getting my dad to override with his password just for me to install/download certain things. >.< (he password protects basically everything...)

Tam I am 11-25-2014 02:15 PM

Do they have a jellyfish doll yet, Law?

Lawtan 11-25-2014 02:25 PM
