NikkoGallarado 07-20-2011 03:12 PM

I remember them days. -feels old now-

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 03:16 PM

-need a blog to go rant about stupid college students that are going to have to pay MORE loan money back because they were stupid enough to vote in another fee-

Glad I've got enough scholarships and grants to cover everything -puffs cheeks-

Uzekins 07-20-2011 03:19 PM

>D im in neither anymore but yeah. we had $50 free for prints but after that we had to pay more.

NikkoGallarado 07-20-2011 03:24 PM

What the hell to all the fees?

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 03:26 PM

YOU HAD 50 DOLLARS?!

HOLY CRAP!

We got a max of 8 each semester...then down to 4 with no warning...then gone with no warning the semester I needed to print an entire lab book for Biology. Luckily my friend let me print a lot of them at his place one time I was there.

Uzekins 07-20-2011 03:27 PM

thats sucky. mine was community college lol

NikkoGallarado 07-20-2011 03:27 PM

I don't understand they need you all to pay to print things? For that much?

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 03:28 PM

Mine's the University of Tennessee.

Either lower the technology fees...or GIVE US OUR PRINTS BACK! -raaaaaaaaaawr-

Uzekins 07-20-2011 03:30 PM

lol i never been in uni cause it is way too expensive. and yeah my friend has to pay for print too

Reyoki 07-20-2011 03:39 PM

I go to a community college, and our prints are 10 cents each. You have to buy a special card, too. The card costs a dollar when you first buy it, but you already have 50 cents on it. I keep a couple spares in all my binders in case of emergencies.

Uzekins 07-20-2011 03:41 PM

mine gave us $50 free but then again i didn;t even use that many lol

Reyoki 07-20-2011 03:46 PM

The cards we have are... rechargeable? I guess you could call it that. We're able to put more money on the cards, and they never expire. Two semesters ago, I used over ten dollars worth of prints because I had to print out copies of a Power Point presentation for my entire class.

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 03:47 PM

They charge us for a technology fee....which I never use now that they've taken away the free prints.

So they are charging me for a service I don't need or use.

Uzekins 07-20-2011 03:54 PM

ah thats not fair really but they;re all greedy. money lol

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 03:57 PM

Yeah, I know...which is why I'm glad that this is my last year.

I either graduate or lose the scholarship that pays for half or more of my schooling.

Reyoki 07-20-2011 03:58 PM

I have scholarships and grants, so the only thing I really have to pay for is basic stuff like notebooks and pencils, and the print card.

I might have to start paying some of my tuition soon, though, because of all the rate hikes. I can only hope that my dad's recent retirement is taken into account when the Financial Aid office goes over my paperwork.

Uzekins 07-20-2011 04:01 PM

ah, still sucks though and my college tuition etc went up too.

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 04:01 PM

My state is one of those states where if you have a surplus of scholarships and grants....they give you a check for the difference.

That's how I pay for my textbooks, body wash and other hygenic shit that my mother refuses to buy, maybe some birthday/christmas presents for people close to me...and to eat something that doesn't come out of a can and isn't a frozen tv dinner .-. Banquet is nasty.

This semester I only have 4 classes. The books will cost over 500 dollars >_<

And our tuition goes up every year....without stupid people voting in extra fees.

Uzekins 07-20-2011 04:01 PM

most expensive book i got. I bought from my friend for half price.

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 04:03 PM

I buy from one of the two bookstores.

One will screw you at book buyback time...the other will give you half price back for books they still need.

Spirit of the Party 07-20-2011 04:04 PM

Good afternoon, peeps. *struts in*

Reyoki 07-20-2011 04:10 PM

My school does that, too, Yoku. My books this semester are going to cost about $200-ish. I'm taking some pretty easy classes this time around, and my mom already had the Precalculus book I needed.

Uzekins 07-20-2011 04:10 PM

=p hi hi C:
*pounces on*

ah. lol i never buyback etc. i would given like 1/2 price to ppl to buy from me

Reyoki 07-20-2011 04:14 PM

My friends are all a year or two ahead of me, so I don't have that opportunity.

I did keep my French textbook, though. My professor used it because it didn't have all the answers in it and let me use his during the class. He wrote extra notes and stuff in mine and we traded back at the end of the second semester I had with him.

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 04:14 PM

Eeeew. Precal. I'm glad I never had to take that. And if I got my mom to buy any books, I'd have to her pay her back plus some extra. I'd rather just go buy them myself once I get my refund.

Spirit of the Party 07-20-2011 04:14 PM

*get's pounced on*
XP oh hi. XD
I geuss your in a good mood today.
Mule powers avoid the in character nervousness. XD

Uzekins 07-20-2011 04:18 PM

mm not really. im kinda sleepy D:
and i slept more than before

Spirit of the Party 07-20-2011 04:20 PM

Aw...is s'okay. I'm kinda tired too and it's like 1pm here. XDD

Reyoki 07-20-2011 04:23 PM

My mom didn't buy the book for me. She used the same book for Trigonometry and kept it in case she decided to take Precalculus. She's just letting me borrow it since she's not taking it this semester.

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 04:24 PM

If mom decided to go to the same college as me. I would drop to avoid her.

Reyoki 07-20-2011 04:26 PM

That's why I take day classes while she's at work. She takes online courses, too.

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 04:29 PM

Mom works at night once all classes end until 6 in the morn.

Reyoki 07-20-2011 04:33 PM

What irks me isn't that my mom and I attend the same college, but that she gets better grades than I do.

Yokuutsu 07-20-2011 04:36 PM

I'd be shocked, depending on the class, if she got better grades than me. I get pretty good grades in my mind....except certain classes like Finance, Statistics and Probability, and Algebra...

Uzekins 07-20-2011 04:38 PM

lol *noms on salad and gets cranky*

Reyoki 07-20-2011 04:44 PM

@Yoku: My mom's been taking lots of classes. She's going for a technology degree. She drops a class if she doesn't think she'll get an A, and she gloats when she does get an A. I'm not allowed to drop a class because I have to go full time in order to stay on her insurance.

@Chibi: Something wrong with your salad?

Uzekins 07-20-2011 04:50 PM

no. just my nan was nagging me about checking the onlinne job things >.>

Reyoki 07-20-2011 04:52 PM

I wish my dad would take me to the mall so I could go job trolling over there. Shoot, I'd even go as far as working in the Chick-Fil-A there.

Spirit of the Party 07-20-2011 04:52 PM

That sounds like bunches of fun. XP

Uzekins 07-20-2011 05:01 PM
