I am reading Mistress of the sun b Sandra gulland she is a Canadian auther and their is only a canadian price on the back so I don't know if the book is sold outside of Canada but it's really good if you like historical fiction I am sure you can find it online to buy. I got it for $5 lol so all the better

Madam Kira, wiki'd The Road, and while it sounds intersting I'm terrified it might give me nightmares! I've a particularly vivid imagination, and already have issues with zombies over their love of eating people.... While I know it should be dark(as the information told me) did you find it particularly so while reading? I'd love to give it a go, but again, my sleep cycle cautions me.
feythfull- i just googled that and it sounds really good! I'm not usually a fan of fiction in that time period, but the writing seem quite sold. I'll have to see if my local library carries it :) |
The Road was dark, but it was also a book worth reading. I don't think it should give you nightmares, the bad guys are only shown...3 times i think, throughout the whole novel. Though, to be honest, it seems more of a book to read with a book club or something, instead of just reading on your own. |
Ah, well I"ll keep it in mind if I can ever get friends/people to form a book club with me LOL I usually just do a 'book exchange' with people. I love the lending library of my friends, I get new books that if I hate I give them back quicker! Not to say I don't love my normal library, but my friends tend to read similar stuff to me, and there's no wait list.

My friends and I read sort of the same books, but i don't have a lot of time to read books right now anyway. With AP exams, and SAT and ACT, I'm not even suppose to be on the computer. x.x The only reason I read The Road was because it was a school assignment. |
Ah, gotcha, good luck on your exams btw! I know when I took mine my teachers actually encouraged me to read a bit more(well, more the general class as they often too my books AWAY) to help with reading comprehension and vocabulary.
