I've seen stranger things. Like a guy marrying his favorite video game character. Yep...

johnny 07-29-2010 09:23 PM

No one ever calls me.

So my hatred of phones stems from my shyness and poor speaking abilities. ._.

Zypher 07-29-2010 09:25 PM

I was shy when I was younger, before i started highschool, and I used to stutter a lot since i didn't use my voice on a daily basis.

I still have the occasional stutter, but it's no where near as bad as it used to be. But even back then no one noticed me stutter unless I pointed it out.

I too agree about the cell phone thing. :I Though I do text a lot. lol

Sei; lol Yay for firsts! I wanted to have the first something on here. ;w;

@Jonon: My case, I have a hard time hearing things over the phones. TT_TT I just. . . can't seems to hear the pronunciations clearly and always ended up answer off-topic.

@Zy: :o Marry his game character? How?

Sei 07-29-2010 09:27 PM

*calls up johnny* :'D Helloooooooooo?

I'm shy, but usually can hold it together when I'm on the phone.

I stutter and use "um" and "like" a lot.

A lot of people think that stuttering and those "um/er/uh" pauses in speech mean the person speaking is unintelligent, and I've always been sort of afraid of them thinking that of me. Even though I could probably whip up a fairly eloquent speech on any number of subjects, if I have to actually speak I sound like I have a vocabulary equal to that of a third-grader. So I don't talk.

Zypher 07-29-2010 09:35 PM

I don't use um and like, I just repeat words once or twice in a row as my brain functions far faster than my mouth does, that and I sometimes loose my voice since I rarely, if ever, use it.

johnny 07-29-2010 09:39 PM

Oh, and on the phone I have a habit of completely freezing during a conversation. Especially if the person I'm talking to is someone official like a bank or my school. I'll just reach a point in the conversation where it's as if I've totally lost the ability to speak English, and I can't think of any words at all.

That's only on the phone, though. I generally don't do that when I'm talking to people face to face, because I find the phone far more intimidating than regular conversations.

Zypher 07-29-2010 09:42 PM

I have a soft voice so people who don't listen or aren't paying attention don't hear me, so as a result, repeating myself has become a pet peeve. Though if I raise my voice it sounds and feels as if I'm yelling. They don't seem to think so, but they don't spend most of their time listening. They usually spend it shouting.

Upon seeing the post at the very top of the page, this has to be said: I hate phones. .__. They're a horrible, horrible invention unless used for emergencies or for very long distance.

johnny 07-29-2010 09:48 PM

Someone once told me I have a gay voice.

I don't even know what that means.

:c

Faye 07-29-2010 09:50 PM

John:
Hurhur.

xD

Sei 07-29-2010 09:53 PM

When I go to work and work in the drive thru, I get called ma'am more often than sir. I guess I have an effeminate voice? TwwwT
