we had a few inches of snow yesterday, so that was fun. =)
|
That sounds fun!
...as this is a Public Domain and fanfiction based Library, I thought these two things would be appropriate: Metropolitan Museum of Art New York Public Library |
actually, it was kinda fun. I shoved some snow, and then I went to Starbuck's for my yarn night
|
So I just tried calling Tam, and got a message about the call not being able to be completed/connected. I'm guessing her phone/internet provider is being a bunch of dummies over something stupid as pit. She's prolly frustrated enough to cuss, but at least I have enough info to go on to say she's more than likely safe.
|
Phew, I hope Tam is ok.
also, there's an event so I'm back xD |
|
Somehow the phone lines to my apartment got cut, and I've been without service since the third. I'm not back yet, but my brother had pity on me and brought to his place so that I could use his computer to tell my people what's going on.
Den, can you tell Mars? *hugs* I miss you guys so much! |
Tam's okay! YAY! http://wallpaper-gallery.net/images/...-images-15.jpg(Also, arting, writing, and working) |
Yaaay, Tam is alive and ok!!
I don't like dates (the fruit), even though my sister swears it's almost like chocolate. |
>.>
That was my food today...chocolate |
Hopefully not the only thing you ate today... right!!!
|
Well, that and some pizza!
|
Well... pizza has calories, so I guess this time I'll forgive you.
But you better eat proper!! |
Guys! I have an update on Tam! She's safe, and unharmed. Here's the link to what happened: http://tam-i-am.dreamwidth.org/249164.html
|
yaay that she's okay! =)

She's also here a few posts earlier saying hi xD
|
I'm just wondering why they cut her, and seemingly out of the blue...
|
*shrugs*
...on another note, this is awesome: https://i.imgur.com/VlN1In1.gif ...the black circle is the Earth, if I am reading things correctly |
Is that the solar wind hitting Earth's magnetic field?
|
I wonder what happened with the apartment D:?
*stares at pretty picture* What is that? What's solar wind :o |
I think Lawtan is showing what her powers can do to Earth.
|
>.>
Maybe the last one... xD ...but yeah, solar winds strike the magnetosphere and cause the auroras (northern lights) http://media0.giphy.com/media/pkVHZKcnzzkmA/giphy.gif |
It's a solar wind? :O
Man, my sister went to Iceland BUT SHE DIDN'T KNOW HOW TO USE THE CAMERA AND DIDN'T TAKE A SINGLE PIC OF THE NORTHERN LIGHTS!! I'm still baffled!! |
Aww, and the pictures would have been so pretty x'D!
I'd never known that was what caused auroras! I'd like to see an aurora in person someday :o |
So I became an aunt today.
|
Aww they're so cute! I love their names <3
|
awww, adorable, Den!
|
Awww, congrats, Den!!
Those cats are so fluffy and adorable!! I want to eat them!! I mean... pet them. |

I saw news about that gif you posted in another forum, Lawtan!
They said the sun can also fry our eletronics D: don't do that sun pls just do the northern lights!!! |
>.>
The chances of that are low...for the present. They increase over the next thousand/ten-thousand years, if I recall. Though there are some who believe some of the massive blackouts were caused by that. (I think it is just as likely that politically-motivated hackers got into the power grid regulations and overloaded it) ...The biggest risk is that when the Sun starts burning out all the Hydrogen, it will go to Helium, and at the current distance between the Earth and the Sun, the greater intensity of light will render Earth uninhabitable by complex life...then it can start expanding, possibly gobbling up Earth in the process...(But that's in a couple billion years) Solutions: Solar Sails - using the very solar winds you saw to push the Earth like a massive ball-like ship into a safer orbit. (We already use this to reduce fuel costs in space...just not with the Earth) Dyson Sphere - a theoretical technological structure designed to capture and control all emissions of the Sun. |
KITTIES! I wouldn't mind being their auntie! XD
|
Changing orbits sounds risky. Better to invest in new technology.
|
The problem would be finding a planet we could live on without having to use technology for everything and the creatures native to the planet. And lets not forget that planet's versions of 'natural disasters'.
|
...I hate to say that the chances of us finding a life-bearing planet before that issue...would be slim. Mainly because most earth-like planets are thousands or millions of lightyears away. (We'd be better off taking over the known solar system at present, I think)
The Dyson sphere has the issue of "has no real design yet" - but if Britain gets it on with sustainable fusion, that could change. :D |
*searches Dyson sphere on google*
I didn't imagine the phrase "taking over the solar system" would be quite so literal xD |
Obviously the design has to be a sphere!
Ta-dah! mdom solving all of the world's problems!!! |
I think its pretty cool, not sure if encasing a star is a good idea though. ^^;
|
Encasing and absorbing its energy!
Mwahahahahah! |
