he sat back and folded into lotus once more, the man was an idiot
(An idiot? Why thank you~ )
Samuel was almost done with the radio when he lookes up to ask Leslie about a certain item he needed from a tooobox, and froze. Leslie was relaxed and completly still, Samuel's mind helpfully supplied that Leslie looked good like that and Samuel squashed that line of thinking before it could go any further. Samuel glanced back down at the radio and decided to focause on it and ask Leslie for the part when he broke out of meditation later. |
he woke with a start as the other slipped a bolt. he flinched and opened his eyes. he did not realize he had actually fallen asleep. the other was still working on the radio though so at least there was that one small blessing
Samuel almost missed when Leslie woke up having been trying to ignore him. But the other was now awake so he posed the question, "I'm as done as I can get with the tools I have. DO you happen to know where my other ones are?" They had been on his person originally but they were not there anymore.
he nodded his head towards the bag "i confiscated them, i will give them back if you promise not to hurt yourself with them"
"I'm not into self mutilation." Samuel said seriously. "I promise not to purposely injure myself on them."
he said nothing to that remembering the damage the other had caused his hands and got up to retrieve the suplies
Samuel was not counting his hand injuries as self mutilation as they were caused by his will to escape not to injure himself. The ties and gotten in the way of his hands so he had tried to escape them and cut his hands in the failed attempt. He waited for Leslie to give him his tools before returning to work on the radio.
he went over to the other and sat down next to him before handing the items over "so what are you doing anyway? i only get software not hardware"
Samuel took the offered tools and went back to work on the radio. "First I had to check and make sure you did not disconect any of the wires or recieving units when you broke it apart on the wall all it did was break at the points of highest stress." Samuel spared Leslie a glance, "Like the seam of a cloth. Easily fixed but a pain to." Then Samuel returned to his radio. "The only thing I had to reconnect was the few wires to the external sound amplifyer. Then I had to fix all the mars you created when you broke it against the wall wich required some patience and strenght. It was a simple repair job that requires a melder to finish."
he watched the man's hans as he talked they were twitchy and fast and moved as if they were possessed. he wanted greatly to stop them from moving. "well does it work?"
"It should." Samuel said. "If none of the circuitry was damaged in a way that can't be fixed." Samuel gave the radio a look that said it had better work. "You can test it if you want."
he reached a hand over to the radio and flicked it on. static came over the speakers
"It works." Samuel said dryly and unsurprised. "Static is because radio signals will not actualy travel through space and the two other towers that might be sending messages are...not operating."
he lifted the radio from the man's lap "for all you know it works, without a signal though you can't tell" he thought about breaking it again just for something to do but thought against it, the thought was rediculous
Samuel stood, tools in hand, "What do we do now?" He hoped the other would not break the radio again but who knew what the other was thinking.
he snorted audibly "we? i am perfectly content to sit still and do nothing, it is you who needs a distraction. if you would like i can break it again"
"I said we because knowing you, I'll drive you crazy while trying not to be bored." Samuel said it with faux happiness the kind that makes people want to gag. "And don't break it again, unless you want to fix it."
he said nothing and dumped the radio back into the technician's lap. he was out of ideas then
Samuel carefully caught the radio and flipantly commented on the other's silence. "Cat got you tounge?"
without thinking he opened his mouth "hardly a cat" quickly he clamped his mouth shut and turned away mentally berating himself
Samuel smirked, he now had something to do. "What's got your tounge then?" He asked witht he false pretence of innocence.
he kept silent and instead took the radio from the other. he wrapped his hands around it and squeesed until it made a nasty cracking sound. he tossed it back to the man and stood "i don't think you've fixed it after-all"
Samuel raised an eyebrow, highly amused. "I fixed it, you broke it." He said softly. "Maybe anger management is in order? I can be your punching bag."
the man's words made him angry but also it sent a twinge of something else through his stomach. he blushed lightly, glad the other could not see his face at this angle "you hate my sort remember? don't say stupid things you don't mean"
Samuel placed the broken radio on the ground then walked up behind Leslie. "You haven't killed Beta yet, so I don't hate you yet." He said it honestly, it was the truth. Beta Tower was his baby, the only one of the towers he had been allowed to place living code in, and the only one still operating. "And who says I don't mean it?" He was right behind Leslie now and had placed a hand on the other man's shoulder.
he needed to escape this corner he had drawn himself into "but i will, the moment my people say kill it i will. no hesitation no remorse"
Samuel raised an eyebrow and removed his hand. "Untill that day, I won't hate you. And even after that day, I may not hate you. Because for all yoou know that virus could fail." And he finds himself hoping that the virus will fail or that another operative would release it just so that he won't have to hate Leslie.
he felt the hand leave him but the other made no effort to move away "it won't fail. your code will die, it can do that much easily enough"
Samuel grinned and though O yea of little faith. "You can't say that until it has been tried." He was not going to lose this argument. "As I said, until the deed is done, I won't hate you."
he could feel the conversation move back to safer grounds " she has never failed and i doubt this time will be any different"
Samuel was grinning again, this was merely a pride battle now. "And my code has never been comprimized before, so we'll see then who has the superior knowledge.
he turned back to the other now and got close "i will prove my code can kill yours"
Samuel grinned, he was now in a corner and all Leslie would have to do is lean in...Samuel's eyes widened slightly in surprise and he quickly shut that train of thought up. "I don't think so, my code is much superior to your liitle virus."
he smirked darkly as the other flashed surprise at his comment and it only widened as the fool bragged about his code "i have cards to transfer it with, you write a code and i will crush it into nothing"
Samuel purposefully misunderstood that comment to frustrate the other. "Crushing the code's container won't prove that the virus is more superior." He was grinning though, and that pretty much gave his game away.
he was pissed now and grabbed the other by the shirt-front "don't play stupid you know exactly what i am talking about
"Yes, I do." Samuel said easily now staring directly into the other's eyes. "But you're much to fun to tease."
he loosened his grip as most of his anger fled him. "what is your angle?"
Samuel blinked, that had confused him. "My angle?" He asked woundering if the other had mispoken or if he was missing something.
