A golden shower is a reference to what particular mythological event?

The conception of Perseus

MonBon 08-26-2019 11:34 PM

When implored to 'think of nothing', a Ghostbuster envisioned this mascot, instead

Stay Puft Marshmallow Man

Okay, my ducklings! Update! I could not post at all in the last three days, but this is not your fault, so I'm giving everyone on the participation list =100 pts, and all questions correctly answered will have the maximum value! I appreciate your patience with this rocky journey, but, as this is going to be a regular thing, it will be less and less rocky as time goes by.

But not sure if that campaign got a name, and if so, whether said name was "pennies for the president" (obviously in that case it would be all about creating those pennies in the first place, not collecting them from anyone else)

I do love your historic knowledge, but no once more. I didn't know that about the tea service, though! That was quite a self-sacrifice in those days, if I recall.

Unsurprisingly any miliary intelligence search for that woman never brought any results.

I guess colonels don't read Wizard of Oz.

That is incredibly interesting! Maybe I should include a random user-submitted trivia section. What do y'all think? Maybe in the future...?

Name five deities for whom lust/physical love is amongst their main tasks or domain.

Okay let's see, uh, <:/
Aphrodite greek goddess of love, romance, sex, beauty.
I think Eros is one greek god of sex and desire.
Does Pan the satyr god, who chases after nymphs and is sexually deviant count as a god?
I remember Kem was some god in Egyptian mythology with an erection all the time that looked like Osiris but wasn't. o___o;
And does Zeus count? Because he was like, the king of having sex with like anything and anyone female. <x}

Kitalpha Hart 08-29-2019 01:37 AM

Zeus was just a horny mofo

That sounds reasonable, but isn't he (along with his brothers) a bit of a nerd? He's an engineer, or something. Trivia might be a hobby of his!

Happy replaced what previous mascot? Double Bonus: When was it originally introduced?

Happy is the new McDonalds mascot or 'brand ambassador' replacing Ronald Mcdonald.
He was first introduced in America in May of 2014 but was created in France in 2009.

Major 08-29-2019 03:15 AM

OH MY GOURD THEY MADE THAT THING A MASCOT?!?!

Kitalpha Hart 08-29-2019 03:17 AM

They retired ol' Ronnie McDonnie?!

DreadedMartian 08-29-2019 03:35 AM

Hopefully this is the happy Lee was talking about, but yes.
Unfortunately, Happy creeped people out worse than old Ronny (whish is why he was retired in the first place)

Major 08-29-2019 04:15 AM

Ronnie McD was, like, the least creepy of clown characters.

"Hey Bob, let's drop Ronald McDonald as a mascot! He's a clown, and therefore is creepy! But what should we replace him with?"

"I know, Lisa! A Happy Meal box! What could possibly go wrong?"
