My DMs are always open to anyone who ever wants to vent.

I hope your days get better, Mekarta and Espy.
My mom has been sick too lately and it's been rough....

My mom is also a big baby sometimes, though. lol

Mekatra 01-20-2020 06:23 PM

I'm finally starting to get over this cough, but it has been so cold lately that it hurts to go outside and breathe. Of course I have to park my car at the top of the hill because of all the snow.. now that I can't breathe properly I'm a bit winded when I get to the top and go into a coughing fit. *sigh* SO ready to be over this crap.

I just hope I am over it by Saturday for this event.

Kory 01-21-2020 10:10 PM

It seems like the flu has been going around.
My mom has been sick for a few days now. :/

I hope everyone feels better soon!
Being sick sucks' >:T

Stabbsworth 01-22-2020 01:04 PM

> coronavirus outbreak in china
> the flu can apparently kill people

i may or may not have been learning a little too much today.

daikokunyo 01-23-2020 09:11 AM

one of my rp friends is an early education teacher, and there was an outbreak of flu in her class. she bleached everything lol

Kory 01-23-2020 08:45 PM

I talked to a friend at the gym and she said that there have been several people out sick with the flu...

It's becoming more and more obvious that my mom has the flu.
I hope she gets well soon because my mom can be hard to be around when she's sick because she gets cranky and oversensitive...

The flu has been going around all over the place, it seems!
I guess this is flu season?

Mekatra 01-23-2020 08:52 PM

It is and the CDC on the USA says it is one of the worst flu season w have ad in over a decade.

Stabbsworth 01-24-2020 01:42 PM

okay so the coronavirus is apparently worse than the flu. there's a 0.1% fatality rate from flu.

coronavirus strain is 3%.

Espy 01-25-2020 03:20 AM

So far, the coronavirus fatality rate is 3%. Considering the lack of symptoms shown in some carriers, it might be much higher than that. Also considering the lack of symptoms, no one knows exactly *how* contagious it is, but scientists know the strain is capable of mutating very, very rapidly.

And in the US, this year's flu strain was already bad, and the vaccine not particularly effective. For once, I'm glad to be in a relatively insular location and not in the Bay Area (which would have either the second or third-highest concentration of visitors from China).

Merskelly Metalien 01-26-2020 04:47 PM

o_o;
...I don't want the flu ever again...
e-e; I don't want the coronavirus...
I'm too smol and morena to die! @~@;

Stabbsworth 01-27-2020 01:46 PM

i mean, we've pretty much got the technology to make some sort of vaccine now, so.

(though, mind you, there's always those white middle aged mums with their essential oils poisoning their kids because they think they know better than several thousand scientists.)

Merskelly Metalien 01-28-2020 01:23 PM

O_O we live in a terrifying age...
where a new plague is completely, plausibly possible.

Stabbsworth 01-28-2020 06:12 PM

the plague is antivaxxers.

Merskelly Metalien 01-30-2020 12:55 AM

...I imagine a similar history with the black plague for some funny reason. >w>; Since, you know, it spread through filthy contact and people thought basic hygiene was useless so...

Kory 02-01-2020 04:15 PM

It's kinda scary how this flu has been spreading!
I think I heard on the news that like 2k Minnesotans were already hospitalized for flu symptoms and a couple have already died from it. ;-;
I think some of the people affected were children too.

Merskelly Metalien 02-02-2020 04:21 PM

Those with weaker immune systems like children and elderly are always of most concern, but also adults with disease that have weakened immune systems too. 8/
I pretty much have a weak EVERYTHING, so, I am eating more oranges, and staying away from coughing and sneezing people as much as possible. >~<;
