Really, Gozed? I can't stand DBZ, personally, but I love the other manga series based of the legend that series is based off of. Believe me... Goku is way cooler in Saiyuki and half the characters don't sound constipated all the time.

Seriously, I was like, 11 or 12, and it was one of the first animes I was into that didn't come on fox or WB on saturday mornings. Now I watch DBZ and I think its retarded, but the name has stuck.

*laughs* Check out Saiyuki (the manga, not the anime as it is as retarded as DBZ) sometime. It's got a nice blend of different aspects and the art is good.

Dragonball came out in the mid 80s, the time of Hokutou no Ken, the second and first successful airing of Mobile Suit Gundam, as well as its first sequel Zeta Gundam, Super Dimension Fortress Macross, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, and the end of Osamu Tezuka...

It was the end of the old era... Finally releasing Tetsuwan Atom and Tetsujin 28, and ushering in the franchises and ideas that shaped the modern era... Everyone had 80s Def Leppard Metal Hair, dressed like fools, and plots were stereotypical and easy!

Anime was pure and simple! It was a good time! Unfortunately, we've come a long way since then... Animation is bounds better, we've learned you can have serious plots with realistic events, and we've fallen into the Moe trap...

Its a 90s anime! Revitalized the 'Magical Girl' genre inspired by Cutie Honey and others of the genre's old-school~

It did for magical girls what DBZ did for shounen action shows~

Of course, it seems better~ Eight years is a LONG time in anime land, lots of time to improve~

Even into today's show have come a long way but some shows. . . like Pantie and Stocking with Garter-belt is a new idea they are tossing around yet many hate it another hand full will love it all the same. Hetalia, Kuro, Pandora Hearts, of the new times with old shows like Master of Mosqution even older shows we know of.

I fight between Bebop and Inuyasha all the time.. Hakusho eh :/ I could never get into it after the plot actually picked up.

*nods* I understand that feeling. A lot of times, I'll just go to the book store and read the ones that I want to and then think about buying. If it's a no go... just read it and not worry about it. They don't get mad at you so long as you don't damage the books or try to steal something.

It's a cheap solution for a complex problem. *grins* Of course, I have a hard time saying 'no' to myself when it comes to books. More likely than not, though, I'll buy a regular novel. I shouldn't right now as it's nearing Christmas, but I hope to buy some more after the New Year comes. (I have an obsession for owning books.)
