I do love me some good ol' shoujo stuff. Guilty pleasure and all that. Sappy romance. <3 I don't know that other one, I'll have to look that up too. (I feel like I'm getting very educated. lol)

Aaaw, that's a shame. ): Bad dreams? And if you have an opportunity to I hope you can take a nap and maybe have a better sleep.

Fey 04-27-2012 06:25 PM

a nap sounds amazing...but stuff to get done. spent most of the day with my bff who's freaking out about her mom and some serious health issues, so I've accomplished nothing.

But yes, check out both of 'em, though they do play VA voice shuffle between the two.

Helsinki Harlot 04-27-2012 07:42 PM

Well that's a shame to hear. Hopefully you'll get at least some rest today or something more fun to do.

I want to watch something again that was like Fruits Basket (well, more like the manga it had a bit more detail but I love the anime too.) Or like Elfen Lied, been forever since I watched that.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-27-2012 11:36 PM

I like shojo, too. Too bad shojo beat magazine was canceled.

Fey 04-27-2012 11:38 PM

Hmm, something more like Fruitsbasket...do you want the reverse harem sorta thing(in which case FY and SM are totally there), or something a bit more just fun silly? In which case I totally recommend Ranma 1/2 As to Elfen Lied...I'll admit I've not watched it, so I can't give you any good ideas.

I'm sorta sad that Shojo Beat is gone, but I"ll be honest I couldnt' tell you what that cost me in the way of things I read....

Helsinki Harlot 04-27-2012 11:42 PM

I want something kinda weirdly bitter sweet with a female character who just works hard and can find something good about every one around her and such. I dunno. I really don't know what I'm truly in the mood for. Honestly, I'd just like a classic, cliche boy notices girl for the first time although he's never paid attention to her.

Is Shonen Beat still going? I haven't bought either in YEARS. Which reminds me I really need to catch up on my Nana.

Fey 04-27-2012 11:56 PM

I think you'd really like Saiunkoku Monogatari then, it's a girl that works hard both at home and trying to find a place in the larger world. she gets the guy...but doesn't really want him, then ends up with a gazillion other guys, and doesn't really want them she just wants to do her JOB and what's right. Helps that I adore one of the first seasons 'bad guys' a lot. and pretty much all of her supporting cast.

Helsinki Harlot 04-28-2012 12:04 AM

Sounds good. o: Is it available on that site you mentioned?

Fey 04-28-2012 08:02 PM

er, I've not looked, let me go now and see!(cause I have it all on my home computer I never think about these things)
:: opens a new tab to search::
yep, good anime dot net has it! :: verifies that it's all the episodes not just season one::
hmm, now I'm confused...I think they just have first season....oooooor I'm just too dumb to click on the 'next page' button. yes, they have both first and second season.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2012 12:06 AM

Shonen Jump is still in publication. Bleh! It's for boys.

You may like Kitchen Princess. It sounds a lot like what you were looking for.

Echo-chan713 04-29-2012 11:12 AM

I miss my tokyopop manga

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2012 07:52 PM

Shojo Beat not only had good manga, but it also had cool articles on fashion, art, crafts, food, and Japan.

Fey 04-29-2012 08:54 PM

I don't know if I ever read, straight up, a shojo or shonen jump....I tend to just read the manga inside. But I'll be honest, I rarely read ANY magazine for more than the bit that interested me in it to start.

Echo-chan713 04-29-2012 09:05 PM

what about otakusa?

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2012 09:14 PM

I am unsure if I have read or seen that magazine.

Fey 04-29-2012 09:29 PM

me either, but even then, I buy the occasional magazine for an article, or a photo spread...heck, I bought one issue of NewsType solely for the fact that my picture was in it from NDK...I don't think I've even flipped to the other pages.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2012 09:37 PM

A magazine has to have several articles in it that I want - or one article I want a whole lot - before I buy it. It has to be that way practically every issue before I subscribe to it.

However, if it is just looking at it at the doctor's office, book store, or library, I'll flick through the whole thing and pause at interesting stuff to read.

Echo-chan713 04-29-2012 10:10 PM

Otakusa would be found in King Soopers or even in some walmarts

Angel Spirit Girl 04-29-2012 10:21 PM

Hummm. I don't know if it would be in our Walmart, but it might be in our Barnes and Noble bookstore.

Fey 04-29-2012 11:03 PM

I used to get a few magazines via subscription...never really got much value out of them to be honest. now I just pick up an occasional one if I get caught by the cover.

Angel Spirit Girl 04-30-2012 11:34 AM

I have subscribed to different magazines over the years.

I think I only subscribe to Realms of Fantasy currently.

Wait. It folded, too. :(

Echo-chan713 04-30-2012 01:37 PM

I've never really subsribed to anything magazine related since its just wasted paper to me

Angel Spirit Girl 04-30-2012 03:26 PM

I try to only subscribe to ones I really like.

Usually it is only one or two at a time.

I don't get them from the bookstore very often.

Fey 04-30-2012 06:11 PM

it's been years since I held a subscription...I don't know what I'd even be interested in getting anymore. I'm seriously ADHD with my interests of late...do they make a 'geekery/science news/sewing tips/comic news/cats' magazine? I'd so buy that. LMAO

Angel Spirit Girl 04-30-2012 06:42 PM

They would probably have them as all separate magazines.

Fey 04-30-2012 08:57 PM

LOL but I want it in ONE! cause, then I'd probably read it cover to cover, rather than piece meal.

Fauxreal 04-30-2012 08:59 PM

I have no idea what is going on. What's up?

Fey 04-30-2012 11:14 PM

LOL complaining that no one shoves all my random interests into one magazine....
Beyond that, lamenting I let my friend pick the prop she wants for her birthday...the flag on it is Fing complicated. Hoping that my motivation to make the three costumes I need in six weeks finds me soon. And...uhm, not falling asleep on the keyboard. cause all the tired. You?

Angel Spirit Girl 05-01-2012 09:51 PM

Good luck with the prop making. <3

Fauxreal 05-01-2012 09:55 PM

I like Gothic Beauty Magazine. It doesn't have all my random likes - but it does have quite a bit. Mix that with Faeries Magazine and I'm all good for the most part. <3
I made the prop my sister needed at the last minute. If it weren't for the last minute nothing would get done.

Angel Spirit Girl 05-01-2012 10:13 PM

Those sound like interesting magazines.

Fey 05-01-2012 11:33 PM

I'm a noble of procrastination(not the queen, that seems like 'work'), all of my stuff is done at the last minute. sometimes the minute before, but not by much.

Fauxreal 05-02-2012 12:29 AM

I love the last minute. It's my favorite minute.

Fey 05-02-2012 09:12 AM

I'm not gonna lie...>.>.....when I do out of state cons I intentionally leave some hand sewing to do on the plane. I love messin' with the TSA when I fly with sewing needles LMAO

NikkoGallarado 05-02-2012 11:29 AM

Fey I have prestent for you and also I live!

Fey 05-02-2012 11:50 AM

NIKKO!!!!
::rolling tackling gomping hug::

NikkoGallarado 05-02-2012 12:36 PM

Will you be home later on tonight?

Fey 05-02-2012 01:46 PM

I'm home all day, have the day off :)
is it good to have nets back?

Fauxreal 05-02-2012 04:25 PM

The TSA lets you fly with them at all?! Wow!

Fey 05-02-2012 04:26 PM

yepers, needles and scissors as long as they're both under three inches long(holy crap long needle). Though I do tend to get in trouble for the gazillion pins I leave in things.
