Ohhh. So similar to why I can't stand goose. Only nobody shoved it. I just ate it when I was urky.

Well, DK could go to Japan because apparently they think a traditional American Christmas dinner is getting KFC. .-.

SparX 10-27-2016 11:14 AM

XD I was always wondering why that even is.

ml1201 10-27-2016 11:19 AM

Well, who ever was trying to get KFC popular over there was spinning tales of Americans eating it to get them to buy it, so they tied it in with Christmas. ^^; It was a huge marketing ploy that worked. Now its a thing in Japan and us Americans are like 'huh? o.O'

SparX 10-27-2016 11:26 AM

I could still be down with kfc for christmas.
Kentucky Fried Christmas. XD

ml1201 10-27-2016 11:37 AM

Yeah, but I'm just saying its not a traditional thing in the US. XD

SparX 10-27-2016 11:42 AM

Not at all XD
Our tradition (because my siblings always have xmas plans with their families and not ours) became a friends xmas. BEcause all my friends have been there more then (most) of my family.
So to fit it in with everyone's schedules, we have an 11-1 brunch of biscuits and gravy XD We make 3-4 crockpots worth of different kinds of gravy and make almost 100 biscuits sometimes XD

Tam I am 10-27-2016 12:59 PM

Kind of like corned beef is NOT actually an Irish food. They had boiled bacon and cabbage. Except corned beef doesn't make me sick as a dog like KFC does.

Did you know that Japanese Christmas cake is strawberry shortcake?

SparX 10-27-2016 07:31 PM

Yeah I always wondered why they have so many strawberries on their cakes too XD
I don't think we really have a traditional dessert for my family >.>
What is the traditional dessert for America anyways 0.o

During the one war, american soldiers wanted to have turkey for xmas but there are no turkies over there so they had fried chicken. and thus KFC saw that the japanese were interested in the fried chicken and it became a thing over there. KFC saw a GREAT thing and the got in on it xD

people preorder chicken buckets then line up at their local KFCs to pick them up xmas day x'D

I tried to make their 'shorto keki' once but... the cake turned out to look more like frizbee's instead of cake ._.

ml1201 10-28-2016 01:40 PM

lol, if I thought Scooter would actually chase it I'd try throwing one. XD

Demonskid 10-28-2016 01:45 PM

haha when it was first out of the oven it looked more like the top of a mushroom x'D once it cooled and settled it looked like a frizbee

i was so sad ono

ml1201 10-28-2016 01:58 PM

Was it edible or no?

Demonskid 10-28-2016 02:04 PM

ml1201 10-28-2016 04:31 PM
