I tried writing something like it once, it was more fantasy based, with a teen werewolf, his older adopted Frankenstein like sister (she actually looked younger), a vampire with a weak stomach to the sight of blood, and a train that would randomly jump through time.

I've been working on something with a Hitchhiker's tone that's a fantasy, too. It's not nearly as epic in scope as Hitchhiker's is, and I have terrible trouble with how to narrate the thing. Traditionally, you would figure the "all-seeing narrator 'Once Upon A Time'" type thing, but for some reason it doesn't sit well for me. Overdone or something.
