I love it too. Even planned to get one of them but unfortunately that store is notorious for seriously inflating prices and then offering a "discount" which still doesn't really justify the cost for most items.

As someone who works at one of those stores, I can say that's accurate. At least in regards to the seasonal home decor items.
I almost never buy any home decor stuff unless it's at least 50% off...and then only because I get my employee discount on top of that.

It's too small anyway for the front of the house, but it fits with the floral theme and witch who spilled her brew. It's probably too complex to remake without the materials.

Also...may have caved and bought a "Halloween" coat rack. I know the hooks are supposed to look like bird claws, but they could also be dragon claws so I'm going to attempt to paint them in different multichrome colors...with maybe a coat of holo on the claws. Because I need more magic dragony items in my apartment. XD

I don't have the skills to paint anything like that well. If I had the photoshop skills to get the layout and sizing and everything right, it could work if some sort of heavy duty stickers were printed and then added.

Shows us your rack! I mean, coat rack. But that would be really cool to have the multichrome paint on it. Do you have a favorite brand for the multichromes? I got a couple to practice with, so far.

For multichrome, I don't have any real favorites in real paint (as the ones I've tried have tended to, hmmmm....it's hard to describe, but they've been sort of...less dense in pigments I guess? So for most small-ish projects, I just use multichrome nail polishes. And for those, my fave brands (that I've tried so far) are ILNP and KB Shimmer. I used those 2 for my multichrome scale gloves that I made last fall.
Actually, I'll probably need to buy more polishes before I do any major painting now that I think about it. I'm running low on my good colors. And want to test some new colors.

Oh I like the nail polish idea, Kaderin. Too bad so many colors are limited edition. But then, if you use them on projects instead of nails you can at least appreciate them for a lot longer.

I guess it is true though that a lot of companies will do seasonal collection releases for colors and then never/seldom bring those back. But most often those aren't anything too special and similar options can usually be found through other brands.

That's good to know. It might just be the ones I notice that tend to be limited. I kind of just want to get the pigments and flakes to add to a medium for projects. But then that would be a whole 'nother wormhole.

It definitely depends on brand and where you're getting them too I think. There are definitely some that I bought spares of because I knew they were limited edition. And a few that I accidentally bought extras of because I forgot I already had them. XD

Need to give it a quick wipe/scrub, then I will paint everything but the claws black so the multichrome has a good base to start on...then I need to make some new test-swatches of my multichromes to pick colors (and maybe buy some new ones idk). Then the real fun starts! 8D

Oh cool, those are just begging to be painted aren't they? The multichromes would definitely be a perfect use. I'd love to see the finished product if you manage to decide on a color. It would be hard to pick one.

Debating if I want to do all the same color or if I want to do each one a different color. So one more green-based, one red/orange-based, etc.
Either way, gonna make up some little swatches using my black scales for future reference. And for people to vote on maybe.

It sounds like either way you go, there are no wrong choices.

I remember long ago with Kustom Kulture and seeing all the awesome color shifting and flake paint jobs and wanting that for a more consumer level at a smaller scale and it finally happened. But now they are all rather pricey. They might cost more to produce for some of them. There's a Youtube channel though where they just experiment with some of them to see what happens when creating weird mixes for cars.

And are ya'll aware of the event in Pantheon?

Mdom: I would guess that it has something to do with import/shipping costs and whether nail polish in general is considered to be a hazardous substance or not in Brazil.
Good holos cost a lot here too, though probably not as much as they do there.

Bio: Ah, I remember seeing "chameleon paint" cars as a kid and I was obsessed. I wanted my car to look like that when I was an adult (if only I'd known I wouldn't be able to afford a car at all back then lol!), but it seems like it's not really a thing anymore and I wonder if maybe it's not a street-legal paint color these days because it would make it harder to identify a car's color of it were involved in a hit and run or othet crime.
But I can have fancy shifty everything else.

The chameleon paints and other shifts definitely exist down here. In fact, there are several "coffee and car" events and you can see them up close. It's also common with slab culture. I wish someone can come with me to see them. Everyone uses dip paints or wraps now since it's less of a commitment and less cost, so it might become even more popular. Not sure of the legality of it though.

I've noticed you haven't been around there in a while, and I definitely care that you exist. But if you're not feeling it, that's okay too.
