Hm...Besides my first-year dorm, KGB was the first friend group I had. Actually, I knew about them before even going to CMU; I had gone to a sleeping bag weekend, and my bagger host was in the group. She gave me a sort of...underground tour. KGB is infamous for knowing about the tunnels under the campus. So...I immediately knew that was the first group I would track down once I actually went.

So I did. Actually...uh. I got sort of kidnapped by a Scav Hunt group on my way to find them to figure out how to join...and that was kind of how I was introduced to the rest of KGB, haha...

But yeah. Most of them are Comp Sci people, and I followed them to another social group...yeah. So most of my friends in college stem from there and my major, really.

Nah, I'm a Mech E. But...I get mistaken for a CS a lot, probably mostly on account of how I dress, haha. Maybe because of where I hang out most of the time, too.

Oh, yeah, the tunnels are great. They installed a lock on the main entrance the beginning of this semester, though, so it's not that accessible. Though...if you have a couple friends and are really fast at doing what you do, you can still get in with no problem at all. Roofs also are fun to get up to. But...all us people with knowledge of the "underground" stuff are really careful about it. Like, we know we could get caught at any time, and that's why we don't bring in people who aren't students unless they're willing to take the risk of being caught and arrested. (Students get off a bit more easily.) There are also other entrances, but those are also pretty hard to get into. And for the ones that are locked...

...well, let's just say a few of us have developed the ability to bypass that.

Not even remotely. I mean, yeah, maybe later on you're going to need a coder for some robotic part, but computer science and mechanical engineering have very little overlap.

Well, it had been missing a lock for a while. It was still "locked" to people who didn't know how to wiggle their finger into where the lock would have been and lift a lever, but I guess they decided to fix that. You're not supposed to be down there, most because it's dangerous but also because they don't want students messing around with steam pipes. And there's asbestos, too.

Oh, they totally know we used to be able to get down there. I'm not sure if they /still/ think that. They probably do, but it's not really worth their time to go scouring the tunnels. Campus security probably don't want to get their uniforms dirty and breath in asbestos anyways.

Groups ahve definitely been caught in there. KGB was leading an underground tour once with like...30 freshmen and they got caught. The freshmen were fine, but KGB got community service.
