heh. Funny thing was, I was sure that Monty started doing it when he was bored too, and not just when he really did see something. He would be flopped on the floor with his head on his paws and not move at all. I'd just hear this "wuff" and my sister's hyperactive Jack Russel (hyperactive is probably a redundant term there ;)) would then go on a spaz trying to find whatever it was she had to kill.
Monty only ever met one cat, my cousin's "Friday" a part bengal (not sure about the other parts). He walked up and sniffed her nose in a mildly interested fashion, and she gave him a no-claw bop on the head and he got the hint and walked off. That was about the extent of his interest. |
Reminds me of what my parent's dog did to their cats. I do find it a little amusing that media is always portraying dogs as the "vile cat killers" or some such when they actually get along rather well. At least in all my experience which I guess isn't all that much.
|
Depends on how they are raised I guess, and whether or not the dog percieves the cat as a prey animal of sorts or something to chase. My family has always had both types of animals around so all our dogs and cats have to be interspecies friendly or things get difficult fast. Monty wasn't raised with cats, but he didn't at all bothered by Friday, but that may have been because Friday lives with two dogs (and she runs things ;)) so she didn't run when he walked up. My sister's old mastiff didn't chase cats at all until one (someone's barn cat) actually ran from him. He was a puppy and then tried to chase the cats he lived who would just glare at him and go back so sleep, so he never made a habit out of it.

Yea, it makes sense. Animals are like people too, how they are raised makes a difference on how they act in life.
Your nice long posts make me feel bad for not being able to write as much. Just a little XD |
It's comes rather easy to people who have to write a lot of college papers. Those were better at getting my typing speed up than any course or program I tried. ;)
|
Ohhh, pretty new avy. I like it a lot Quiet :3
I was never good at writing papers at all. Even my creative writing which I think is pretty good (for me) doesn't always come out very long at all. I don't know if it's just that I'm not descriptive enough, or if it's something else. |
Long doesn't mean good, it just mean long, or wordy, or stuffed with lots of information, or trying to look like it. I've done all methods in school at least at one point, I'm sure. ;)
I think writing style can affect length a lot as far as creative writing goes. I find I write really small and can have a hell of a time with large word counts. I have to fight to get my NPC contest entry up to 750 words, including background and personality, and possibly the items. It's also not like I type everything at once either. (She says as she hits "edit" for the third time). I think of more stuff to say, and I add it in and hope I havent' been ninja'd yet :p. :) **Thanks** :) |
Well, I think I tend to get to the point often. But I also think I skip some details that others might include. Does it mean I'm not detailed enough? I'm not really sure but lots of people say they like my writing just fine.
|
I've been told my writing is too detailed, so it's hard to judge. I guess it's more a trick of which details to put in. Leave out certain things and it can feel bland, put in too many superfulous things and it can feel chunky.
|
Yes that sounds right. I like to think I throw in the right details at the right times at least. I haven't written in a long time aside from the RP and a few contests here so I'm not sure anymore.
Wow, I forgot how nice it was to talk to you Quiet, I'm glad I get to today ^^ |
-comes crashing through a window-
SOOOOOOOOO BOOOOOOOORED. |
You're going to FIX that Espy. -stern look-
That will keep you occupied and not bored for a while ;) |
I started on something for Rem's contest in the last event but never really made it far. I still have the draft on my comp and I do intent to finish it but it needs some smoothing, and I think some streamlining of details. ;).
Likewise, haven't seen you on MSN much and I've been absent from Tris a lot with work. Probably in the next week too. Don't have my schedual yet but I imagine I'll be working until Halloween and probably on it too. Lazy day on Sunday though. Was looking though some of the costumes with a couple co-workers while waiting for costume calls to bring out to the customers. I liked the poodle skirt outfit but the skirt was alarminly loose around the waist in a store with lots of people and kids and things needing to be attached to belts. Got a toga instead. ;) |
What's your halloween costume, Espy?
I'm still not sure but I like to wear stuff around the store because I can get away with it. :D |
1.) I don't fix stuff. Unless it's robots. >.>
2.) Halloween costume...I don't think my parents are gonna let me trick or treat this year. -slightly pissed- I blame...their paranoia, college apps, and it being on a Monday. |
Trisphee-wise, though, I'm not sure. I'll either cosplay someone (maybe Brief from PSG) or dig up that outfit I made a couple weeks ago.
