How exactly is that like? Outfits vary greatly with just a decade or so.

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 01:13 PM

imagine a great grandmother, for most persons that is within a 25 year scale. it is not a specific set of clothes but a general style that was popular between 1900 and 1960

Monorea 12-18-2015 01:37 PM

Nah can't imagine it.
There are so many styles and fashions in the world.
Image references is easier to understand tho.

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 02:09 PM

then put it out of your mind

Monorea 12-18-2015 02:09 PM

Sure no problem

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 05:16 PM

so, do you celebrate xmas? my mother-in-law is making me practice it this years(she did it last year too but since we live together it is more than a tree and some presents)

Monorea 12-18-2015 05:28 PM

I did tell my christmas tradition in some thread. Left out a lot of course, like the rice pudding and rhymes.
One thing i haven't said yet, i don't think of Christmas as a religious holiday.
It's just a new name for Yule and it's simply a celebration of family, food and gifts for me.
Mom forces us to go to church on Christmas but only on Christmas even if she doesn't care either Probably as a way for her to see which people in the village still lives there and is alive or something.

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 05:30 PM

uh.... ok then >x> that did not really answer my question but whatever, you do things during xmas time

Monorea 12-18-2015 05:32 PM

It didn't? What were you after by asking then?

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 05:33 PM

do you celebrate xmas. like literally, do you celebrate that specific holiday

Monorea 12-18-2015 05:38 PM

I celebrate with presents, food and company on the 24th and call it Christmas but no not xmas i don't know even what it is exactly? Could you tell me?

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 05:44 PM

it is the non-religious parts, trees and presents and food and family

Monorea 12-18-2015 05:47 PM

So basically what i do and probably most people who claim to celebrate christmas do but you are bothered enough to give it another name?

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 06:27 PM

i was by no means the first >x>;;; not by a long shot

Tas 12-18-2015 06:30 PM

xmas is just another name for Christmas.

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 06:30 PM

>3> do i spy a toho lurking in my thread? -offers cookies-

Tohopekaliga 12-18-2015 06:31 PM

Fun fact: "xmas" is an actual historical Christian way of rendering the word "Christmas," as the x was sometimes used as a shorthand for christ at various times (I wanna say do to early persecution, but I'm not certain there, so I'll not say that definitively).

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 06:32 PM

i have not heard it used for the holiday but the x HAS been used as shorthand, the fish thing too(in fact the fish was explicitly made as a secret sign)

Monorea 12-18-2015 06:35 PM

You are always welcome to share more facts, that was interesting.

Tas 12-18-2015 06:38 PM

yes, the X in Xmas is actually the Greek letter chi from the word Christos meaning Christ!

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 06:40 PM

bleh, i have cold feet

Tas 12-18-2015 06:42 PM

you should put some socks on!

some electrical socks!

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 06:43 PM

i own one sock and it is not electrical XD

Tas 12-18-2015 06:46 PM

you only own one sock? o.O

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 06:47 PM

it never gets thrown away even though it has not had a mate for a very long time

Tas 12-18-2015 06:52 PM

do you just go barefoot all the time???

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 06:53 PM

no. i wear shoes that do not need socks. it is warm all but 3 months of the year

Tas 12-18-2015 06:54 PM

what kind of shoes don't need socks?

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 06:56 PM

sandals, slippers, maryjanes, flipflops, shoes without backs or tops or sides. basically half of all footwear that exists XD duh!

Monorea 12-18-2015 07:02 PM

Socks are pure evil so good for you Chocobo

Tas 12-18-2015 07:02 PM

I like socks.

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 07:03 PM

XD less evil and more make my feet sweaty, yuck Xp

Monorea 12-18-2015 07:15 PM

My big brother thinks feet are more sweaty and stinky without socks but they arent.

littl3chocobo 12-18-2015 07:17 PM

they are not, there is no safe place for the bacteria to grow if your feet are covered with crud and/or constantly moving, and of course sweat dries much faster bare than covered. socks harbor a LOT of bacteria

Monorea 12-19-2015 04:44 AM

Exactly, as i always say socks are pure evil *nods*
I do have to maintain my feet a bit more but that really isnt a big problem.

Ireland 12-19-2015 12:38 PM

How long are you are wearing your socks?! lol

I stick to the one pair to one day, unless I'm in an odd situation, i.e. I'm traveling and forgot to pack enough sockies. >__> But those instances are few and very far between.

But, then again, maybe my feet are strange and don't sweat too much...cause I don't have crusty socks at the end of the day.

Monorea 12-19-2015 01:44 PM

I dunno either, i just throw of the socks as soon as i can.
I have sensitive skin so all socks are itch machines.

littl3chocobo 12-19-2015 07:40 PM

more than a few mins is all you need XD yum, foot-ick stew

Potironette 12-19-2015 08:02 PM

I love socks because I hate wearing slippers xD
My feet aren't particularly sensitive and are cold all the time too.

littl3chocobo 12-19-2015 08:05 PM

ah, then for you socks might be the deal XD
