i have definitely been getting enough damn sleep.
|
Try sleeping in a healing tank.
Like in Dragon Ball Z. <x} Gosh I wish those were a real thing.. >w> |
I've recently been told that I've been sleeping too much,
At least 14+ hours a night... But now I am on a schedule where I go to sleep at 10pm and wake up at (At most) 9am I was doing pretty well for a few weeks... But something happened and I ended up staying in bed for like three days :( |
<:] Honestly that used to be me a few years ago..
I used to stay in bed 'til almost noon every day, and go to bed around midnight. >->; not sure if it was a depressive symptom or not, but I was pretty low back then.. Now I get adequate sleep, but I'm not sleeping when I'm supposed to. <~<; Because I struggle with my own established schedule.. <x} Go figure...I always want to do what I want to do, except when I don't. |
Sticking to a sleeping schedule is hard tho. I keep telling myself I will go to bed at a reasonable time--- then next thing I know an event happens here on Tris and suddenly I'm wide awake again at 4am.
|
I was doing pretty well at sticking to my sleep schedule...
Something happened, though, which I won't go into detail. But I guess I just felt really sad and hopeless and was in pain, so I literally just laid in bed for a few days. I only got up to use the bathroom. That totally ruined my sleep schedule too. I felt like shit, I was doing so well with my sleep, but then that happened and now it's all messed up again. |
<:{ Man that sucks. That kept happening to me too!
<x{ Mostly after my break-up, but, I eventually got over it. >-> Sorry it's all messed up again. <:/ But I hope you get it back on track. It's a struggle.. Also I kinda relied on tea more to help me relax and help me wake up. :] Tea is nice. Would you like some tea Ava? I got teas n' stuff here. *pulls fish out of pond* :[ oh, not that, *tosses it back and pulls up a tea cup* this! :] |
Oo! I love tea :D
I used to drink chamomile with honey before bed. It was really, really relaxing. I think I still have loads of loose leaf chamomile tea. What's your favorite kind of tea? I personally love PG Tips :d |
:] Chamomile is a very relaxing herbal tea used to help with stress, sickness, sleep and anxiety. It's also good for digestion. ^-^
I have a special loose-leaf native American medicine tea that helps with sleep and relaxation too. :] I drink it when I'm very sick or in pain and/or am unable to sleep at night. Turmeric tea is good for pain and stomach aches too. :] I'm into more herbal teas, but I enjoy a good flavored tea too now and then. ^-^ I have a blood-orange smoothie tea which smells and tastes very good. But my favorite teas have lemon or citrus in them. :] With tea season coming around the bend, I'm excited to have a cup in the morning, and the evening to help warm me up and relax me when it gets stressful and chilly. ^-^ <3 |
if you're unable to keep much down, i hear those sports drinks (gatorade / isotonic) help with hydration and electrolytes.
|
:] That's true. Very good for low appetite and energy when you've got a fever or are sick.
Or like, doing athletic activity. x} |
ye. they're designed to hydrate you.
|
>:} Speaking of Hydration...

It's been a struggle for me to hydrate myself. >:(
I think it's just because I don't like the feeling of liquid swishing around in my tummy >n< |
hrnghghghghghghgh motivation centers in my brain pls activate
|
X} I'm just the opposite, I love the feeling of liquids swishing around, hehehe.
A lot of people don't like the taste of water because it tastes like nothing...because, it's kinda supposed to? <x} It's liquid air. Contains oxygen. :] Good for your blood n' stuff. So there's like, flavored or sparkling or mineral water. >w> but I don't trust any of those. I drink about 4-5 16oz bottles a day. :/ Double that if I'm sick. Which I hope I don't get! >~>; *quarantines own mother in her bedroom* @Barker: ono Get motivated get motivated get motivated get motivated get motivated I like the avi ace colors get motivated get motivated get motivated get motivated get motivated! x} Is it working?? |
I like the taste of water.
I drink it, but not enough. ;-; My current goal is to drank half my body weight in ounces of water for 30 days! It's not going so great lol |
I had an advertising post about water somewhere... <.<? Was it in this thread?? Or in the Shout into the Void thread??? I should hunt it down really quick.
|
why would you drink water when the energy drinks are saturated into your blood in the form of caffeine.
|
Because chest pains..? x~x;
|
ah
that sucks. |
:[ Yup.
Also maybe headaches. AH! I found it. :D It was in Shout into the Void! I thought so, because it was a PSA to everybody. x'D (Drink Water) |
Oooh! I feel you on that.
I can't drink energy drinks anymore. They give me heart palpitations and make my anxiety worse. ;-; I can tolerate black tea in the morning, but anything after 3:30pm makes me really anxious. I noticed also, when I miss a dose of my medication, I tend to get anxious too. It's weird? Like, if I miss my night dose, I end up not sleeping well, if at all. But like... it's just one dose? I don't get it. >3< edit; To make it clearer, I take a daily medication, but I also have a PRN for anxiety >3< When I miss the scheduled medication, anxiety gets worse. |
>u>; I used to be addicted to those little 5 hour energy drinks, and then I had to stop because I kept shaking and getting too hot, and loosing sleep. <~<; and annoying everyone.
But mostly for health reasons, I stopped. My body is tiny and even a little caffeine will affect me. Same with alcohol. >->; Very sensitive to whatever is in my bloodstream I guess. Yeah, taking meds is important in consistency. :[ I don't take any meds for my mental health, but I am on birth control for my god-awful periods sent by satan himself. I noticed missing a dose causes chaos and destruction. TTuTT; So now I take them consistently without fail, as soon as I get up to go to the restroom in the morning, I take my little angelic hormone pill. And so far, my periods are getting better. :] However, the acne is still stickin' around. >_> I guess it makes sense..I am on a lower dose pill after all. Remember to take your meds. ^-^ So you'll be okay. *thumbs up* |
i'm on medication for particularly bad acne. have to re-order it once every... two months, i think? we usually get enough to last me for some time.
ironically, one of the side effects (of potentially going off the meds, idk) is worse acne. |
>u> isn't it odd how sometimes the meds come with little surprises of their own?
<-<; *coughs in mask* (I'm not sick.) Luckily, I haven't had any side affects with anything I've been taking lately. |
less odd and more discouraging XD
|
Less discouraging, more, UN-fortunate.~ <B] *raises mug of mystery drink to that*
|
i'd take unfortunate XD
|
x] *nods in agreement* yup. That'd be the correct usage of the definition. *downs drink*
|
uf,so i woke up way early. i think i am going to mosey my butt back to bed
|
-u- Same, however,
I'm gonna try to make myself so sleepy that I'll have no choice but to sleep..using only legal herbs and substances. =u= ~+ |
hahaha, i just listen to boring people doing longplays
|
For some, that helps!
-U- For me, it's space music. |
I've never had those 5 hour energy drinks. But when I was in middle school, I used to drink Rockstars and Monsters. I could drink one at 11pm and still fall sleep by 12am. Although, I usually chose to stay awake all night to roleplay on Gaia. xD
I can't even drink black tea without getting anxious now, though. ;u; Ahh, the joys of being an adult! I think with any medication (aside from PRNs) consistency is a huge part in whether or not they will work. I learned that the hard way ;-; Every scheduled medication I've taken, I usually would eventually stop taking and then I would end up in the hospital. >:T I think this medication I'm on now is helpful because I have to get my blood drawn often. And if I miss more than two doses in a row, firstly, my psychiatrist would be able to tell through my blood draws, an also I would have to start over with blood draws once and week. And that was hell!! ;-; @Merskelly Oof! I'm glad your periods are getting better, though! I've heard a lot of good things about some birth control options. My good friend has the nexplanon implant and she loves it. She hasn't had a period in a while. I kinda like my period, but I've had a weird bought of random bleeding in between my periods and it always made me scared. But it's not doing that anymore. I don't know what changed! My body is just weird I guess lol |
Yes, thank you Ava. <:/ They were quite dreadful to say the very least.
<.<; The way I saw it, I could either let the next period destroy me and drive me to self-harm/termination, OR I could bite the bullet and see the OB/GYN about it. >~>; My fear of pain was greater than my fear of doctors specializing in gynecology at that point..luckily no testing was needed for me to get my pills. Can't say how relieved I was! <x| I feel better taking a small pill orally however than having an arm implant like my cousin. >.>; There is something about needles and insertions I just flinch away from... I am feeling drowsy, and it's likely due to the medical herbs and drugs I've ingested. -U- I hope to sleep well, ignoring my brother's yelling with his friends over a game of UNO online, and hopefully my immune system will have the forces necessary to stomp out the germ as I sleep. |
currently going absolutely feral on main.
i do actually somewhat prefer red bull to the generic energy drinks, and the Monster energy drinks are the highest in the hierarchy of how much i prefer them. the generics are cheaper, though. |
My system has stomped out the germ in my sleep. =u= However now, I find it at my body's front porch still trying to get in, upset that now it's got no place to infect, except the inanimate objects I touch. <.<; Now I'm tasked with wiping everything down, and clearing my mess and the mess of others...and likely not having a cup of tea to wind down.
*cough* |
i vaguely want to draw but i'm not sure what. i need to get to inktober early so that i don't inevitably end up burning out.
|
>.>; Oof...I dunno if I could even bring myself to doodle for Inktober..I burnt out so quickly a couple years ago...only lasted about 5 days..I might take the first 5 days off, and just try to finish the WIPs I left behind back then, this time around. Though they were all Halloween themed and Pokémon themed. >u>;
