None of those. I'm much rarer. I'm a Minion-o-Mika! (Not the original Mika on here though... I was actually kinda sad that that name was taken when I first signed up.) XD

It was the post in your art thread that led me to the profile. I saw that you (Law) were the only friend, so it was a huge give away, lol.

Me too. It's my favourite colour right beside purple. I just don't wear it on one day. lol

*sigh* I just spent over an hour finishing a quest, my party fought through a wave of undead, I was told I finished! And then the game broke and won't take me to where I'm supposed to report.:p-cry: I hope I don't have to do it over again.:p-sweat:

XD Spinach is one of my very favourites, but I only eat it raw. Cauliflower I'm not too keen on, and lettuce doesn't like me.

Lawtan 03-17-2014 09:50 PM

I actually wore black all day. No pinching...

Minion 03-17-2014 09:52 PM

Fine, no pinching. *pokes* O.o

Lawtan 03-17-2014 09:54 PM

No, I meant as in I wasn't pinched in real life.
*pokes back*

Fauxreal 03-17-2014 09:55 PM

*streaks through*

Minion 03-17-2014 10:07 PM

*does double take* Aaiiieeeee! It's a streaking Faux! >w<

And gotcha. Today was surprisingly pinch free for me too. I didn't wear any green either. I guess I was lucky that my hubby didn't realize it was St. Paddy's Day and my kids are too young to understand it. >.<'

Tam I am 03-17-2014 10:20 PM

Green streakybug! *jumps on table, then goes 0.o and looks at the bottom of my foot, which landed on someone's forgotten pastry*

LOL Being missed today doesn't mean you've totally escaped, if you have a husband.

Also, would the 'Dictionary of Victorian London' fit in this library?

Lawtan 03-17-2014 10:22 PM

O.O I need to update a few books into the library...after headaches die away.
And Extremely much yes to the dictionary.

Minion 03-17-2014 10:40 PM

Aww man... My danish... :/ It wasn't forgotten, I was savin' it for later... after I finished browsing...
And yeah.. He could care less about me not wearing green. He hasn't worn green at all today either, lol. I think we have an unspoken agreement to not pinch each other today... >.>'

Lawtan 03-17-2014 10:52 PM

Haha...for a moment I thought that you were referring to the Danish Language (In the Library, btw)

Yay! I found a good "book", and owwww to headache. My building's taken to using that disgustingly perfumy stuff that you smell in some public washrooms, and it makes me sick. So today, when they did it, I put Pinesol on my chair, which fumigates me good, but doesn't give me hives or sniffles.

I'm really sorry! I'm usually better at watching where I put my feet (former farm girl).

LOL Just today?

Minion 03-17-2014 11:19 PM

That's funny, Law. I actually haven't check out the language section yet...

'Tis okay, Tam. What kind of farm?

And yes, just today, lol. It's weird.

Hippy live out in the bush with no running water and raise or poach all your own meat and grow all your own veggies farm.

So you pinch each other on other days! :p-grin:

Oh wow. Sounds like it had the potential to be awesome!

And yup, just messing around with each other, lol. His sides are really ticklish and a little pinch usually get's his grumpy old self laughing. XD

Tam I am 03-18-2014 02:39 PM

With a little more socialization, and a little less parental crazy, it would've been great. XD As it is... I'm still a little bit like a half wild stray dog because I never grew up around people outside the family. Feral child? Here! LOL

Awwww. He sounds flippin' adorable.

Minion 03-18-2014 03:02 PM

He's adorkable, lol. And he'd be so mad at me for saying it too. He hates being called adorable. He's tries his hardest to be all mister macho, he even walks around with what we call the Kerchak face. (Think of the head-honcho gorilla from Disney's Tarzan) But he's the sweetest guy. <3

D'awww! Reminds me of the husband of another friend. That guy sews her crochet projects together. And tries to get her to make him MOAR hats.

XD In childhood there were times when my family even lived in town, but I was already pretty anti social by then. We moved to this last farm there when I was fifteen. The move was pretty bad. It rained and rained, and flooded and froze our young chickens in their makeshift house, or freaked them out till they ate each other. But I have a good memory of a couple years later. The power went out one night, and we had new chicks. So I went out and coaxed frightened fuzzies out of corners and got them all calmed down. By time the power came back on they were cuddled against me and sleeping. Except for a few real little pests, who I had put into feed scoops to keep them out from under foot as I uncornered the rest. And one big fat broiler baby that I found sleeping in my pocket when I went back to the house. I still don't really remember putting him there, though I know I must have. Broiler chickens just aren't smart enough to crawl into pockets.

Lawtan 03-18-2014 10:44 PM

*Is feeling warm about the chickens*

That's awesome. I wish my hubby would try to sew my crochet projects together, lol. And he's after me to make him another hat. He has weird taste though. He likes his hats extra extra large. I think I used a 9mm hook on the last hat, and he wanted it to be able to roll it up several times over his ears. Before he rolls it up, it comes down to his collar bone. >.< That man of mine is something else.

Tam I am 03-19-2014 01:04 AM

XD So, Law, you see part of why I'm fond of chickens.

@Minion: LOL! What is it with men and hats? On an online knitting magazine there's a pattern with the finished examples being modeled by a rather cute young fellow. And at the end of the pattern was added a note saying that he had come over and gone, "Oooo, what's that?" And the knitter had told him he didn't need another hat. He said, "I do too! I only have three!" My friend whose husband sews her projects wanted his first extra so he could wash his first one. Then she made him a shark hat (yup, nomming on his head), and then, I think she's made him another since then.

...I think hats are one thing I've never tried to crochet. But then I tend to go toward the itty bitty in most of my crafting.

I have no clue. And that's hilarious. Sounds like something my hubs would do, lol. My grandpa had like 15 or so caps, but he only wore like 4 of them on a regular basis.

I've been crocheting forever, my mom taught me when I was 8. But up until just before my son was born, I'd never really finished anything. Now I make hats, dice bags, granny squares... Most of what I do is for little kids (like the 10 yrs to newborn crowd). I've got a few things posted in the Crafter's Corner in the Club House forum if you wanna check 'em out (well, it's actually my alt, Kilala Mikal). I think my favorite that I've crocheted is a blue variegated hat with i-cords and pom poms.
I've seen shark hats on ravelry, and I've been tempted to make one for my son, lol. They're awesome. XD

I've just learned to knit. And I only have 2 sets of needles right now, size 6 and 8 and it's driving me bonkers because most of the stuff I see is for size 5 and smaller or 9 and up. DX I've even had a pattern call for a size 7. Really frustrating... But I make do with what I have. I've only finished (sewn together/ tail sewn in) one knit project so far though... >.>' I've been mostly crocheting here lately. I'm trying to get enough items together to open my etsy shop.

I might have been that age, or a little older, when my mom taught me. I can't remember. She taught me to hold the hook funny, and she also didn't know how to read patterns, so I had to teach myself to read 'em. And then, in my teens I went to making my own stuff, mostly doll clothes. I'll look at your projects later, when I'm calmer and less worn out from being a stress thing.

I knit, but the only thing I've really made is strip dolls, which can be fun, and I managed to vary one by giving her bobbles in her hair.

I used to spend a lot of time Windows shopping on Etsy, but I've mostly given up on it since it mutated. Can't tell from the new "feedback" system if someone's actually a good seller, and all that filling up the activity log with "recommended" spam annoys the beans out of me.

But have you seen these patterns? The Cheese Zombie ones would have tempted me. XD She's got knit and crochet, and they're supposed to be on the easy side.

I was lucky enough to have a lefty to learn from. So I was able to mirror what she was doing. I didn't learn to read patterns until I was grown.

What are strip dolls? O.o (I'm always on the look out for easy stuff to potentially make for my little girl when she gets bigger.)

I don't really spend much time on etsy, simply because I know I don't have the dineros to spare and I have a bit of a shopping problem... I spend unnecessarily even when I don't exactly have the funds... >.>'

Those are soooo awesome! I think I'm gonna talk to le hubs to see if we can flip the bucks for Cheese Zombie's flat sea horse pattern. Too cute! And the orca from Gem is incredible! Very nifty finds, thank you!

Tam I am 03-19-2014 06:04 PM

Strip dolls are knit like a scarf. You start with a narrow strip for one leg, and then you do the next leg on the same needles. Once you have them the same length, you join them and knit the wider body piece, changing colour when you get to the hair area. Once you're done that, you go back to body colour, finish the body, then go back to making legs. Cast that off and sew the doll around the edges and stuff, and then make two strips to double and sew around the edges for arms. You can also do colour changes to show clothes, instead of making a nudie dolly to make removable clothes for. It's a great way to do things like practising stockinette stitch and such.

Ooops.

LOL! You like sea animals, huh? So does that friend who crochets and whose husband helps.

Kilala Mikal 03-19-2014 09:07 PM

Sounds like I'll have to try that. ^-^

I like all animals, except pygmy goats. Those things are the devil. OnO BUT that's just because of a bad experience... >.>' Your chick story was so adorable. It made me "d'awwwww", lol. And I haven't really tried my hand at Amigurumi much. I've made an octopus for my son that has a gimpy face on it. It's bright red, with hunter orange stitching for the XuX face. It hurt my eyes to put those two colors together, but that's what Boy-o wanted... *shakes head*

Lawtan 03-20-2014 03:00 PM

*Comes in and Collapses*

Some days, I really get close to losing it. Today is one of those days.

Never have I met a place that made me feel so useless, make anything I accomplished seem so pointless and insignificant, as I have at Carnegie Mellon.

Today, I honestly just want to run into the streets and disappear forever. I realize that the university I chose - I could have chose Vanderbilt, or Rose-Hulman - merely bullied me into not going off long enough for them to drop me.

Really, right now the only two things that are keeping me from going off right now are a) I have a friend who needs me...and b) I have an intense desire to shove it down CMU's throat.

That said, is living for another and for vengeance really worth living? It's all I feel I have sometimes, because it feels like all I worked towards was first torn apart, then hastily reassembled only to be torn apart again and again.

I think the reason why I forgot many of the things in my youth was because I was surrounded by people and things that made everything I ever do or did... pointless.

I understand it is really nothing to be going through this. There are people who continue on with far worse. But for some reason, the understanding fails to empower me...it makes me feel guilty to even begin to be sad.

I just don't know what to do anymore...

Sorry if I am not on much right now...

Kilala Mikal 03-20-2014 03:45 PM

*poofs a huge pile of cushy pillows under Law as he collapses*

Law... *big hyooge squishy hugs* I don't really know what to say... I kinda suck at this kind of thing... But in the while we've been talking, you've come to be someone I consider a friend. I'd be really sad if I never saw you online again... And I hope this doesn't sound all weird and ish...

ANYWAY, if my words didn't help, hopefully this might at least put a smile on your face...

Tam I am 03-20-2014 09:14 PM

*huge squish hug for Law* Yes, living because someone would miss you is worth it. What reason is better? That one's kept me around for years. And hey, it's something to you. I nearly died because of things that were a LOT less than things that others have lived through. Like the Bible says, each soul knows its own sorrow. And like I say, each sorrow is unique, and it doesn't matter how horrid it seems to someone else, what matters is how it seems to you.

Goats are like children and dogs, you have to teach them how to be nice. Only with goats, hitting them on the head with a small stick won't hurt them, and will have them be sweet and respectful animals (grew up with goats. Have eaten a lot of them too). XD I grew up mothering baby chickens, and other little orphans or sicklings. I'd take the weak one and by time I was done with it it'd be two meals' worth of birdy. I took the kid born lame, and he brought a good price at auction as a purebred Nubian buck a couple months later. Not as good a price as his spotted brother, but still.

And awwwwww! That octopus sounds adorable. XD:p-smile:

Also, eeeee! You got your looming chook to work!

Yeah... The goat that turned me was a pregnant pygmy ninja. She kept getting out and her owner (my ex's mom who didn't like me) couldn't keep her from getting out. Long story short, a lot of things basically 'sploded in my face that one day while I was trying to put that damn goat back in her pen. >.< I have issues, I know... lol.

That's awesome that you could do that with the little sicklids.

I wish I had gotten pics of him before my then 7 month old managed to gimp its face.

My chook (meaning the big looming chicken thing, yes?) has always worked for me. I saw in an earlier post that yours wasn't working... Have you tried different layering with it?

Lawtan 03-21-2014 01:13 AM

...Sorry for the freakout earlier.
*Quietly goes to shelve books*

Kilala Mikal 03-21-2014 08:56 AM

*helps Law shelve books* It's okay, dude. *shoulder nudges* :D

I freak out a lot, I just have a tendency to internalize way more than I should. XD

So how're you feeling today?

Lawtan 03-21-2014 09:28 AM

Still stressed...but freakout over. Haha...um that was the overload from internalizing. Wish I could control that a bit better.
I shouldn't really library these, but 3 games:

Rust (Survival/build-your-base Skyrim-style)
Guns of Icarus (ON A FREAKING AIRSHIP!! :p-love:
Town of Salem (Mafia-esq)

...wish I had tome to play/a group to play with for these.

Kilala Mikal 03-21-2014 10:02 AM

So in Town of Salem, how exactly does gameplay go down? It seems interesting, but I'm not exactly sure how it works. I checked out the page, but my brain is fried from lack of caffeine this morning, so I'm getting a *does not compute*. >_<'

Lawtan 03-21-2014 02:13 PM

Well, there are essentially four factions: Mafia, Serial Killer, Town, and Chaotic Neutrals. Each person is assigned a role from these factions.

Every day there is a discussion and voting period, where the village can vote to hang/lynch a person. It is great for bluffing tactics. Also, the Jailor picks who to jail for the following night.

When Night comes, the Mafia picks targets to kill and frame. The Serial Killer picks a target to kill. The Medium speaks to the dead. Escorts/Investigators/Sheriffs look for clues to the enemies of the town. One person picks a person to defend. And, the Doctor chooses one person to heal from injury.

The group's goals are as follows:

Mafia (A Framer, Godfather, and Mafioso) - Kill town and Serial Killer

Serial Killer (1 person) - Bluff and kill until only one person is left.

Town (Sheriff (sometimes 2), Escort (Same), Lookout, Investigator, Doctor, Ghost Medium, Veteran, Mayor) - Kill Mafia and Serial Killer.

Chaotics (Jesters and Executioner) - They aren't aligned with any side. The Jester just wants to die via lynching (Not by Mafia/SK)...and the Executioner has a random target they want to see lynched.
