Finished my first book!
O Mandarim, by Eça de Queirós. I read it in Portuguese, there's an English translation called "The Mandarin".

@trystan: I'm loving Hyperion, in the last 2 days I've read over 200 pages. It is very good, I have decided to read the sequel.

Yeah, you kinda encouraged me, you spoke of some of his other books and I did a little research on him and he is awesome.

I don't know if I told you that I read Drood by him and it was quite a trip.

there's a book, i don't know if it's by Simmons or not - i took a look at a list of his books and it might be Flashback (?) - there's a drug that enables the user to relive a happy memory, and the narrator's mom (or someone) is addicted and i think that's part of the plot... maybe?

oh i very rarely pay attention to reviews. i love it, and the reviewers hate it. same with movies

You know I am sure you are right about that.
I have bought books or seen movies that are raved about, and I couldn't stand them.

i enjoy pretty much everything i watch (movies and tv shows) and read.

it annoys people who want to bash on it, and here i am, "i love everything!" XD

I don't love everything, I am very critical especially of books.
But I carefully choose what I watch and read so I am rarely disappointed.

yeah, it's rare for most people to like everything.... but i'm weird that way. XD
