Good afternoon. o 3o

Lunaryon 05-20-2011 01:24 PM

Are you selling or buying things in your thread...

Batty 05-20-2011 01:27 PM

She's buying. xD;

Lunaryon 05-20-2011 01:31 PM

Might just have to go over there then. And Hallow Batty! How are you doing this fine Mid-morn/Afternoon?

Syric 05-20-2011 01:35 PM

Hey everyone! How are y'all today?

Lunaryon 05-20-2011 01:37 PM

I'm doing good...ish. Haven't slept, but I am on a road trip to go and see my cousin graduate, before returning home to go to my own graduatin!

Syric 05-20-2011 01:39 PM

Ah, have fun with that. I'll be getting ready for my nephew's birthday party a little later, then it's off to a civil war reenactment :3

Lunaryon 05-20-2011 01:40 PM

A civil war reenactment? What battle? That sounds really cool.

Syric 05-20-2011 01:41 PM

The battle of Resaca [GA]. I've been reenacting for a year now. It's an awesome hobby (I'm a huge history nerd), though it does get kind of expensive sometimes.

Lunaryon 05-20-2011 01:46 PM

That sounds like it could be a whole lot of fun. The only reeneacment around here is the battle of Pea Ridge, but I live a good bit away from there.

Syric 05-20-2011 01:52 PM

It's a lot of fun if you can get past the blistering heat. It's supposed to be 90 degrees or so this weekend, which can get a bit exhausting when wearing a wool uniform

Lunaryon 05-20-2011 01:54 PM

Yuck. If it gets above 72 degrees, I stay inside, drinking Ice water. I am not a heat person. I like it cold.

Syric 05-20-2011 01:55 PM

It's always hot around here, unless it's winter. Actually, it's been pretty cool so far this year. usually it's in the hundreds for Resaca

Echo-chan713 05-20-2011 01:58 PM

I never learned anything after the industrial revolution in my school cause we're too patriotic that we [America; 13 colonies] defeated the British Empire that we forget or to purposely not care about the rest or else it'll damage our reputation as a great nation. Every year it's the same thing. History before America (which is useless), over detailed American Revolution, keeps going into depth about the Bill of Right and the Constitution, then we realized that we are at least a century behind so rushes everything to get to that section (which never gets taught) and then at the end of the year we only just begun the Industrial Revolution, then the teachers bitch at us for slowing down the curriculum (even though it's their own fault, I just keep on asking "Can we move on, it's get tiring hearing the same thing over and over again) then it's a big argument and I move on to the next grade.

Lunaryon 05-20-2011 01:59 PM

The hundreds! O__o There's no way I could live there... Maybe visit, though.

Syric 05-20-2011 02:03 PM

@Echo: That really sucks. The American Civil War is really my specialty when it comes to history. It was an event that really defined how America came to be what it is today. I've learned a lot more since I started reenacting. You kinda have to look at everything objectively, with an open mind. There is so much that you don't hear about the war because it's overshadowed by the whole slavery situation, which is essentially all that the schools teach.

@Luna: Yep. That's your typical Southern Summer XD
