Haha, awhh. :3 I have to go by normal hours since my family has either work or school. xD |
Pfft. Sounds about right. My dad is home all day and my mom works. She doesn't care so long as I still help out, and he doesn't have room to talk since I usually catch him up at 3am eating ice cream out of the carton.
|
Lol, awh. My dad works, my mum stays home. My mum does everything around the house though, my dad...goes to work comes up and sits on the futon to watch tv. We always have to bug him to do something around the house. 'Cause he'll make a mess, or bring stuff home and leave it anywhere. He blames that he works all day that he shouldnt need to do anything else and he is too tired. I'll always say "Yeah? I basically do what you do but different actions, I don't get paid and instead of going to the printer, I go get food." o3o Like seriously. All he does is sit at a computer, the most movement he has to make is going to the printer, going for files or go to the bathroom, lol. Not like he does yard work all day or something that causes alot of movement to get that tired. xD |
Yikes. Sounds about right though. My mom spends nearly all of her time at home either watching tv or, more often, playing on the computer.
|
I have come up with a solution! Use an exercise ball while sitting at the computer and instead of watching tv on the couch or in a chair, sit on the ball! A great way to be lazy and not so lazy at the same time ;)

Hi there! It's Momo :)
|
Hey momo :D Are you finding your way around alright? There are free clothes in the shop called 'Threads' :) You will also find free eyes, nose, and mouth in Trinkets and Tresses!

Lol no worries.. you'll gain the aurum back fast ;) Also as soon as you get 8 more posts I'll send you a bunch of event items and a few commons, maybe some aurum too! I like to motivate newcomers to be an active part of the community by bribing them with free stuff. I think it's a fair trade-off though haha

It's not a problem at all =) I love helping people and that's why I started a charity! This is my favorite avatar community because of the friendly userbase and the amazing layering system, also you get more than one shade of color of every item here! The monthly items come in at least 3 different color options each and they're still only $2 each C: Really good deal, not that I can buy runes very often, but still xD
edit; Also thank you so much for the compliment.. A dear member of the community passed away on the 24th and people made avatars using specific items to commemorate this person. The Celestial Werewolf and the Azure Flight. |
The layering system is really awesome on this site. In your 'Layering' tab while you're editing your avatar, you can drag items so they can layer over and under other items ;D

It really is a bargain.. I mean compared to other avatar sites this is the only one I would pay money for pixels because of the vast color choices they have implemented into everything. They're having a HUGE item update pretty soon, possibly another event! Items that are soon to be released are being previewed on specific avatars, such as Fenris and Batty (The little kitty hat)
I can't wait!! :D |

Unfortunately there aren't any games but staff might be working on implementing a couple of games as soon as the userbase grows a little more and they can afford to add them.. but for now there are mini-games during events here C:
LOL!! That is awesome! Thank you :) |

They are kinda hard to explain, but for one event it acted as like a daily chance item, except you could do it once every 10(?) minutes or so. There were these boats and you clicked one at a time to receive a prize (Runes, common, event item, aurum, other things), and you got to click on 3 of them once every 10 minutes or so. It wasn't much but it was something to do besides post. I really think there needs to be something that can keep members interested besides just forum posting.

Yes there is usually an announcement :) And yes you are wearing one of the monthly items :D There is also an aurum Donation Item you can purchase with aurum as well, the currency you earn by posting! One of the other bonuses of this site :D
I sent you some items from the charity account since you have over 10 posts now :) |

Yeah I had a feeling you wouldn't know who that was xD You're very welcome ^^ <3 Have fun playing with the layering! It really is interesting to work with ^^

I'm not really meaning to rant lol.. but Gaia's monthlies cost $2.50 and they have about 6 poses in the same color. If they had recolor options I would consider staying, but they don't. Instead they keep coming out with recolors of semi-older items so it'll cost more money to get a different color of the same item with the same exact poses. I knew it was a good idea to leave there when I did. Trisphee staff is really good about answering questions and trying to meet the wants and needs of users. It's a really great thing to be able to experience it.
Anyway I'll stop with how utterly awesome I think this place is xD I need to get to bed soon. My back is killing me and I'm dead tired. I should also be out of bed by noon so I can make sure all of my stuff at the old apartment is packed and ready to move tomorrow. |

Agreed! Whew.. what a load off! Haha. I tried the RIGs when they were first coming out and didn't get crap from them :( It was a waste of money. I think for $25 it should at least buy 1mil on there... maybe more by now due to their hyper-inflation.

I'm still a loyal Gaian, but yeah, some stuff they do is just stupid, such as their free items from sponsors, they imply that they want to be user friendly and discourage trolls, but you know, there are a whole heck of a lot of trolls and as a result, they aren't as user friendly. I do have some good friends I've made there though, so I probably wouldn't give it up. I do like that this place does offer many recolors of the same item at once though.
|
Warning: This is a rant. You can skip. xD
I joined Gaia in October 2oo3 so I've been there forever. But I was originally there for RPing and art, and the RPing has gone downhill and the art has massively inflated in price. I stick around because of friends and occasional art freebies, but I'm in no way a loyal fan. Last November, I was perma-banned for accepting a trade from someone that apparently contained an "illegally" gained item. It was just a donation to me, so I had no reason not to accept, and I ended up being severely punished for it. Their policy apparently involves a no warnings, no strikes scenario, where it doesn't matter how long you've been on the site (8.5 years) or that you've had no prior warnings during that time. If they even think you've done something, you're banned forever. So I opened up a help request ticket and I talked to a mod for two whole months, during which she just copy/pasted the same "tough luck" message to every reply I gave, and then finally she just closed the ticket entirely. Raging, I opened a new ticket and wrote this huge rant/discussion of unfairness/other things, had a new mod assigned to help me, and got my account back in 8 days. So, you know... one mod wastes 2 months. One just 8 days. Gaia staff don't care about their users at all. Not in the slightest. You have to get lucky for them to even look at you. They just want to make money. My friend lost a Kepler (worth over 5million) when it disappeared after she gifted it from her mule to her main. She's had a ticket open for over two months now, and they haven't responded to her even once. She has screenshots with proof and everything. It's indisputable that she should have it returned. Well, I didn't really donate in the first place (except for a couple times when cash first came into existence), but I can tell you now, they will NEVER be getting anything else from me. It's a rip off. I even stopped questing, because I'm AFRAID of getting donations now, in case that happens again. I can't believe an item heavy site like that would actually do something to make a user scared of accepting donations. So for my current quest, I sold an expensive item I had and used the funds to complete it myself, afraid to rely on others. /insert a million of the angriest faces ever And... the end. I apologize for ranting. I will forever be angry at Gaia, even if I did get my account back. I stick around to chat with friends, but it's really losing my interest, a lot. Especially after that fiasco. |
Wow, things have gone that bad, even with staff, woo.~ I was a fan, way back when. But stopped after Gaia crashed my computer hardcore. ;o; |
Wow! That sounds like a nightmare, Spazzie :C -huggles-
The free items from sponsors thing really gets on my nerves. Most of them are very poorly made. |
That does seem to suck a lot, regarding Gaia. To be honest I've never been there, just played with their dream avy creator years ago. I hear stories like this all the time and makes me glad I'm not there though...
|
I was member of Gaia up until early 2008, when I quit. There is so much spam and so many trolls that conversation can be difficult, and with the cash shop starting up I lost interest in questing, so there wasn't much motivation to stick around.
|
For me, things changed to much at the time I was on there. I officially stopped after Gaia crashed my computer hardcore, lol. |
Wow. I left gaia simply because I couldn't stand being begged for items. So I decided I would sell off a few and then leave the rest to rot on my account (Steel-Plated Ninja Band included)...
I only go back to check on it occasionally, and even then it's just to be nosy and it's only for a few minutes. |
wut, a Ninja Band just wasting away? xD;;;
Ah, I'd have so many uses for that... orz I never have a problem with trolls or begging. I just stick to my usual cluster of threads and friends and we have a jolly ol' time. I mean, really my only problem was the narrowly avoided perma-ban. I successfully avoid all other annoyances (not counting cash and RIG items) but I'm done questing as of yesterday so I don't have to worry about that anymore. I don't even look at the new items. xD |
I gave up on the site once I got like 12 noobz asking if I can gift them my ninja band. I just don't go there anymore. It's too money oriented and it's ridiculous!
|
It is really crazy... Some people make millions a day too, somehow. I don't understand it.
I had some extra Horns of the Demon on my mule that I ended up selling in order to finish my quest. I had been saving them to host an art contest someday, but so much for that I guess. Back to freebies. xP |
Freebies are how I go all the way, simply because it helps to spread the word of people's arts. And once I finish my quest, I'm gonna start a charity and then probably buy arts, but that's a long way off...
