yes I do.. then they either go "We didn't get your application" (stupid net apps) or they say they'd call back and they never do.. i get up after a week worth of calling them =/

littl3chocobo 09-20-2011 03:42 PM

Feythfull 09-20-2011 03:49 PM

Most places not thats the only way you can. Though if you can apply in person that is definitely the best way.

littl3chocobo 09-20-2011 03:57 PM

Some places don't like that.
By the by me quoting you right now is not related to my creeping.
I have something relevant to go off of what you said, honest.
I'll return to my irregular scheduled stalking momentarily.

Anyway, some places loathe calling to check on the status of your application.
That said they're usually pretty specific about it. Like where I work it was in the hiring ad - and people still called. My manager actually had us keep a notepad by the phone to note the folks who couldn't abide by a simple request. She chucked their apps. Sounds harsh but it's a hotel and we have tons of incoming calls as it is. Aaaaand back to being weird.

Feythfull 09-20-2011 08:04 PM

that was a joke. I want a job though I have two crappy ones *sigh* better then nothing. I can't complain with all the people who don't have any right now.

I hope to get a job here that is paying about $10 an hour with 10-hour shifts for 4 days a week. My boyfriend worked for them for a couple of months and made bank but he hated the hours because when he worked, the shifts were 12 hours O_O

Feythfull 09-20-2011 08:20 PM

I have dreamed of those 10 hours a day 4 days a week jobs I am yet to find one! I am lucky if I get 8 hours a day I usually get 4-8 hours a shift. but I don't have to hope for at least $10 cuz min mage here is $10.25 so it's illegal to pay less then that to an adult.

Ginger 09-20-2011 08:22 PM

Wow! I wish that was minimum wage here.. I'm right on the Idaho/Washington border so I can live in Idaho and work in Washington.

Feythfull 09-20-2011 08:35 PM

is Min wage better in Washington?

Cost of living is higher in Canada then the USA so I am told so thats why it's higher. Though in Ontario I think min wage is highest.

Quiet Man Cometh 09-20-2011 09:03 PM

Last I checked, minimum wage out here in BC was just over $8. It may have gone up recently though. I know there was talk about it. It might be $9 something. Of course, what you actually get paid depends on thr job market and labour demands.

EDIT: just looked. $8.75. Lowest in the country. Joy.
