Ooooh that sounds really interesting Lucid. .3.
|
yeah. it's a fun game and I'd like to play it. I'd be disappointed if it goes in regular games and I didn't get money for all the posts though. D;
it's nothing like "count to a million!" though, so I think that it would feel out of place in that forum. I just don't know where else it would go. |
It's really a more complicated thing than the silly games in the games forum.
|
Would it be something where we create characters for each new scenario?
It's like an internet version of mafia. That game is so much fun at sleepovers.:3 |
you don't have to create a character, but I guess it depends on what theme of mafia we play around. I've never really created a character when I've played internet-mafia, but sometimes I do when I play at parties. then again, that depends on our storyteller. my friends are awesome at incorporating everyone in the room into the story, and giving us crazy lives and relationships and THEY ALWAYS KILL OFF MY KIDS! D:<
|
Awww that's so mean of them. >:U
Mrawrrr. I'm getting sleepy again..so I think I'm gonna turn in for the night. For realsies this time. xD |
Ahh, so it's a word game. I'm going with forum game because it kind of requires someone to say "Night time", "Day time", you know? Where as a roleplay can continue regardless if you are online or not. It's kind of a tough call. Let me check with rules and such before you decide. YOU'LL NEVER CATCH ME! -Boosts to super speed.- |
Sleep? Sleep? What is this sleep?
|
yeah, it is tough because it doesn't really feel like it belongs anywhere. it's not really a word game (it's more of a strategy game, like Clue!), it's not really an RP, it's not really a hangout, it's not really a community discussion, it doesn't belong in gamers' heaven or writer's diary or....
|
My avatar is light now instead of dark!
|
We need a fun section for it
|
DARKMoonSlayer is LIGHT? BLASPHEMY!
|
*gasp* What is this madness?

Let me ask this. When you play it in real life with a group of people. Someone is decided to be "story teller" and the rest are divided into groups... Would you be able to have two "story tellers"? I ask because the game is like green light - red light. As in green light (night) someone's killed. Red light (day) frozen time to discuss and decide who did it. Then again they can kind of go on with the game even if the "story teller" is gone because all the killers have to do is PM one another who to kill. Tricky... It's not really a spam game to be a forum game. If you can create back stories for whoever signs up and plays I would consider it more of a role play. If it's deemed otherwise it'll just be moved and I'll apologize for being wrong. xD; |
Well, the way I've played it online before is that the "storyteller" is more like a moderator. Everyone discusses who they think is the killer consistently through the game and it doesn't really matter too much whether it's night or day. the killers PM the storyteller who they choose to kill. the townspeople cast their votes for who to hang in the thread, and the storyteller writes and posts a daily/nightly/whatever story of who got killed and who was hanged. the day and night is mostly important for getting the votes for hanging counted correctly, and keeping the game moving in a timely fashion.
|
With that though wouldn't the killers feel a little out of the game? They wouldn't be making much money compared to the townspeople. xD; I'm thinking simply because it's not a spammy forum game but you're not really role playing, you're discussing... Ugh.. xD; |
THe killers discuss too. They blend in and pretend to be villagers during the day
|
yeah, that's how the killers avoid getting killed. if someone's not talking at all, it's suspicious! :O
Gaia had a game like this in community discussion for a long time but it eventually moved to a guild (which is where I started playing). but we don't have guilds, the closest thing we have is hangouts and it's not really that either. hum. I guess it could fit in a community discussion simply because we're discussing the other users on the site (within the game)? each killer gives a clue, and a "seer" can learn the clues about the killers, so it's like user-trivia. for example, my clue could be "I am a bed-invader" - in reference to Lucid Dreams happening while people are asleep in bed. everyone would have to talk about who that clue would best fit. |
-sneaks in-
|
:O I spy a Fenris!
|
Hmm... Didn't think of that. Umm, I wouldn't put it there simply because it could be mistaken for more of a game than a discussion and get moved to the sub forum here which kind of isn't fair. I think RP again but if you want you can seek a second opinion. ^^ |
yeah, I wouldn't put it there on first instinct, but I was showing how it could be justified.
my only concern with making it an RP is the possibility of driving potential players away because they don't want to make a profile or stay in character the whole time. |
Tis a Fen!
|
I've been spied!!!! -hides-
|
*prances around looking for Fen*
|
quick! follow the trail of feathers! **chases**
|
=hopes she isnt found, is hiding behind a chi-
|
This is true, Lucid. But technically isn't the "moderator" of the game the person who picks who's a killer and who's not? And you could state that setting up a specific profile is not necessary, they could be rather blunt and be like, "It's my avatar, I'm such and such gender, I'm like this <insert small description>." Would that work? |
the moderator/storyteller would probably pick using a random generator or something. (Player #1 is Chi, Player #2 is Lucid, Player #3 is Fen. random.org generates a 3, so Fen kills us all.) but yes, they would pick who gets a role, and instead of posting a lot throughout the day, post large walls of text describing the deaths of the people. and posting occasionally to remind people to vote, killers to send PMs, et cetera. L has already volunteered to do this, as long as I'm the one organizing all the rules and gathering players.
I guess as long as a huge profile isn't necessary, putting it in RPs wouldn't be bad at all. |
Ah ha!! *tacklehugs Fen*
|
An extensive profile of character isn't necessary for this game is it? I mean I didn't see anything in the RP forum rules about having a detailed profile to fit your character. |
WHAA? She was behind a Chi the whole time? How did I not notice this? o.O L, you sure have some epic stalkin' powers.
nope, I figure most people will play within their own personality. however, a profile and character might be able to disguise one's personality and make it harder to match a clue to a user. so it's up to the player, really. |
-hugs back- Letiel did not reply to my pm on the question I asked earlier?
Of course Lucid you make me the killer xD <3 |
random.org did it, I swur! >.> |
Roleplayer's Realm then I think would be a good choice. If someone finds a reason to move it and does they'll contact you too and you can tell me and I'll apologize. xD; |
I figure if Fenny's been reading our posts and has no objections, there's no reason it would need to be moved. XD
|
<.< I don't think there is a problem with it. It is a game and sort of an RP. I'd have to discuss it with zypher to give you a better assurance xD We discuss all those kinds of questions.
