Batty 05-10-2011 06:19 PM

I have absolutely nothing to do. Aside from working out, and baking scones.

I'm celebrating Mothers Day tomorrow, since I wasn't here for it Sunday. So, I'm baking her scones for breakfast andddddd lots of other stuff tomorrow.

Blaine 05-10-2011 06:20 PM

Baking is fuuuuuuuun. :D
I like making cakes. T:

Annnnduh, tomorrow I get two cavities filled then a movie night with a friend. |D

Batty 05-10-2011 06:21 PM

That sounds like uber fun. <3 I'm prolly gonna do a Doctor Who marathon with me mum tomorrow. Lmao. xD;

Taiki 05-10-2011 06:22 PM

@ Blaine, omg perspective. |D It hates me too. I think I'm having trouble improving cuz I've been trying to change my style into something more cartoony and it's hard trying to step away from anime when that's I've drawn my whole life. @o@

@ Batty, I wish I could bake. xD I give myself food poisoning almost every time I cook something. |D And fo sho, what I'm pixeling is super secret. B3

Blaine 05-10-2011 06:23 PM

AGH, I need to start season 2.
T:
I started from the beginning. >|3

Taiki: Why are you changing your style?

Taiki 05-10-2011 06:29 PM

Because I absolutely LOOOOOVE unique styles. *u* I want to have one too! I want to have my own unique style like my favorite artists. My top 3 are Tyson Hesse, Tessa Stone, and K. Smith.

I've been majorly experimenting. xD Plus drawing cartoony things is just more fun to me compared to anime stuff... probably cuz I've grown out of anime for the most part.

Batty 05-10-2011 06:33 PM

I LOVE Junko Mizuno. And and and... whats her name? Jasmine-Beckett Griffith.

Wifu;; Aww... >< SAD DAY. I'm sure I'll buy it soon enough. xDD;

Hobokins;; D'aw! My mom and I are in season three/season six. xD; And I wanna get her started on Torchwood, too.

Blaine 05-10-2011 06:34 PM

If you keep drawing and stop trying to change yourself, you're unique style will come. ^ ^
It doesn't matter if your style is manga, american, british or australian, you're style, when you draw, you're unique style will come.

But all the luck to you in your quest, hmm?

And if you really want to get into it, really? They're not all that unqiue. I bet I can find other good artists with very similar styles.

The uniqueness of it doesn't come in what it looks like, but the portrayal of the art being used.
Hm? c:

And I know all of them, I love Boxer Hockey. ^ ^

Taiki 05-10-2011 06:40 PM

You're so wise Blaine. *u*

But... I feel like I'm not improving mostly because I don't have time to draw to get better. @o@ I'm like going in circles.

Blaine 05-10-2011 06:42 PM

Taiki, would you like advice, one artist to another?
I know what you're going through, I just got out of one myself. c:

Taiki 05-10-2011 06:44 PM

I would love some advice. <3

Batty 05-10-2011 06:45 PM

-rolls around the floor-

I see a Gozed!

Blaine 05-10-2011 06:51 PM

Taiki, stop thinking of being unique. It's not practice or the lack therof but this feeling you've got that you have to be different.
Sadly, by thinking this way, you're becoming like everyone else.
Yours is a tune I have heard countless times.
"Anime style has become over exposed, we're Americans! We must draw American! Anime is a shame, it's all wrong, it's perspectivelly an eyesore, it's.."
But in truth...does that matter?
The point of drawing isn't to become popular by it, to become something great. It's to simply put your heart in a physical form so the world may see and understand you. Not appreciate you more, pay you for you, judge you for you, but to simply understand and know, "This is who I am. This is who I represent."
I know you're probably rolling your eyes at the length of which I draw this out, but please, take what I say to heart.
When you finally realize that the way you draw is simply an extension of yourself, that what it looks like doesn't matter, you're improve in leaps and bounds.
I know I did. c:

I look forward to seeing more of your arts, you know. ;>

Taiki 05-10-2011 06:56 PM

That was beautiful. ;o;

I really appreciate the advice Blaine! <3 I shall try harder to draw to DRAW instead of worrying so much about what style it is. xD I think this all started when I took a comicing class and I had to draw pages in other people's styles and I thought it was fun so I got obsessed with drawing in other styles and not my own. I need to draw for myself, not draw to improve other people's styles. |D

That was extremely helpful! Thanks a bunch~<3
