XD it is not forcing really, the story is interesting its just image reading a book that had whole pages of French with out translation. Some of it is easy the rest of it is a clusterfuck of confusion.

Have you tried the Let's Read Homestuck videos on Youtube? They make reading the quirks a lot easier because they read it outloud to you. I found it very helpful ^^

The opening to the arc had something they mentioned in the second arc(the opening scenes always kind of show how the arc will end. So usually its something grotesque or scary)and its just. Ughhh.
