he grimaced at the man's calm facade "and a viper's skin does nothing more than protect the viper" he clenched his hands and left. he felt like taking his anger out elsewhere
Samuel watched the other go; silent until he disappeared. "But can you condemn the child for the parents sins?"
he felt better by the time he had returned, his hands were a little worse for wear but he certainly was not a s angry as before, when he slipped in he noticed the man staring right at him "are you hungry yet?"
"Negative." Samuel replied instantly. He was not hungry and would probably remain so for quite some time. "I would not be adverse to a drink though."
he nodded ignoring the strange way the other was speaking. "you do understand you can't come with me this time though right?"
Samuel nodded, "I understand." It only made sense and he had not been expected to be released from his bindings.
he he slipped back out the door and headed for the kitchen. he found a pitcher and some glasses and filling the pitcher with water ascended back up the stairs
Samuel waited for the other to return simi-impatiently. He got the feeling something was off or wrong but he was not sure what it was. He tested the ties on his hands once more; he wanted to check security and make sure everything was alright.
he hurried back quickly
Samuel stopped trying to escape the chair. Why was he worried about Leslie? The chances of anyone being inside the tower besides the two of them where few and if someone was there it would mostly likely have a positive affect on him. The worry he felt for the other was not calmed by this as it should have been and he frowned.
at the top landing he felt a little thrill run through him and worriedly he hurried back to the room "what is wrong? samual?" he looked around the room, it seemed normal enough
He heard Leslie's call and answered, "I'm currently fine...but something is off." He still was not sure what but now Leslie was here. "Turn on the cameras on, if you can, I think we have company." This should have been good news so why did it not seem so? He suddenly relized his hands were untied and his eyes got comically wide. A person, who Samuel could not identify, was behind him.
It ordered in a smooth voice, "Release Samuel to my care or I'll kill you." It was voiced in monotone but the tone suggested that the person was a young male. |
his face flattened. he set down the pitcher and glasses. "now. why would i do that?" he straightened and crossed his arms
The person's voice took a haughty tone, "Because I said so." Samuel rolled his eyes he had a feeling the guy wold be dead in a few. The person moved moved out from behind Samuel; another stupid move in Samuel's mind. Samuel said nothing though; he was interested in how this would pan out.
so, should i call you theodore or can i have your name before you die?" the other had no gun so he most likely had a knife. he yawned in a bored manner to rile the other into the first move.
'Theodore' scofted, "Like I'd give my name to someone who thinks they can kill me." He was staying back from Leslie though and had yet to pull a gun. Samuel watched semi-bored and wondered what the other was playing at. Samuel noticed the other was holding something in his hand and drew a conclusiong that it was a knife or syringe.
he grinned as the other moved slightly, it was a tranq, the idiot "zydone and chlordiazepoxide, a man's best friend, don't be an idiot theodore, you know that does not work on us"
'Theodore' blinked. How had the other known what he had been planning on using.
Samuel could see the other was a bit slow on the uptake and helpfully added, "You have to kill him if you're looking to get rid of him. He probably has imunities to any type of poison or paralyzer you can thing of." 'Theodore might have shot him an annoyed look if he was not so busy focausing on Leslie. "Stay out of this, Samuel." 'Theodore' said coldly. "I'm just here to liberate you. Not deal with your childish mood swings." Samuel did notice; however, that he had changed his weapon to a knife instead of a syringe. |
he frowned "get bent, you can't talk to my hostage that way" he was happy enough when the other flicked away the syringe and adopted a proper weapon, now it would be a fair fight. "you first sweet-heart, you even get a free hit if you are fast enough" this is why he hated rookies, they were too stupid to read the manuals or take class seriously, it was all sex and bragging to them. he lowered his arms and spread them out.
'Theodore' wasted no time attacking and Samuel settled into what would probably be a very short fight. If 'Theodore' lived more then a few seconds Samuel might bother to tell him at least seven points he had gone wrong on.
he smirked at the other barreled at him, stupid boy was so busy trying to be the champion he didn't bother to defend. leslie let the other slash at his chest, the badly angled knife sliced through the thin fabric and drew blood, he smiled and took the other in a loose embrace letting himself fall, he propelled the other forward and the man tripped into the door and down the stairs, he grinned and leapt after the man hoping to snatch him before he had a chance to stop rolling
Samuel watched as they disappeared down the steps and sighed before bending over to untie his legs. He did not get what this whole fuss was about or why Leslie was playing with 'Theodore'. He could hear crashing and other sounds as one of them fell down the steps.
'Theodore' had barely stopped rolling before the other was apon him. The fall down the steps had bruised him but not enough to make him stop fighting. |
he had to admit, when he was done it was less about killing a decenter cum assassin and more getting out his pent up anger but in the end the man was dead and he needed to do a parameter check. he stood up from the ruined corpse kicking it once as he did so and turned to descend the stairs. he was halted when he saw the other looking down at him, untied and with an odd look
The dead man's body affect Samuel no more the the body of his coworkers; which was to say not a lot. "Pity," he murmered, "I would have liked to ask him how he got in." He noticed Leslie looking up at him and gave Leslei a smirk.
he smirked back "me too but that's something we'll have to find out on our own" he climbed the stairs and lightly took the other's arm "you will of course be coming with, you can't be trusted alone without summoning defectors which just won't do. you are my hostage afterall" he kept his done bland with a hint of playfulness but he felt angry and embarrassed, he did not see anyone come in or feel anyone around. it rankled that an amateur had gotten so close
Samuel allowed himself to be led; he was not paying much attention to where they were going though because he was dealing with his legs. Samuel did however hear the last comment and said, "I'm only your hostage for a day or two. Then you'll have to let me go." He tried to ignore the playfullness in the other's tone and responded blandly as though he did not get what Leslie was implying.
he shrugged "if that lunatic was their idea maybe maybe not, i hope he was just rouge or a double-crosser, otherwise i think things may get a little shaky, they've has a few days already, if the two weeks come up before they make a choice i'll have to destroy the tower and us as well"
Samuel rolled his eyes, "Either way, in one or two days we won't be here and I won't be your hostage." And for some reason Samuel did not like that. He atributed it to the human's hate for change and told himself to get over it. "And either was the UN's and that means there are more crawling around or it was not theirs and there might be more crawling around."
he nodded. "i'll get the cameras and do a check then we walk the floors and lock each section down manually, this is ridiculous"
"The whole thing is rediculos." Samuel pointed out. "And the cameras could have all been checked from the comunications room."
he made a bland face "they can be checked in here just as well. no point in moving around."
Samuel nodded, this made sense. He watched patienly as the other attempted to access the cameras.
he checked his box for tampering and found nothing, he clicked his teeth in disappointment, the other theodore was an idiot for sure. he ran the commands and looked through each camera a few times, nothing was out of order. he was not pleased, there should have been some sign of tampering. "i don't like this"
"He may have others with him then, who are very good at making it seem real." Samuel frowned as he exaimed the tapes. "Show the entrances around," he glanced at the clock, "18 hundred and 20 hundred hours." If he was right 'Theodore' would have entered around that time.
he did as he was told running each at times twenty speed. he was getting frustrated when camera sixteen blipped, he stopped it and rewound playing it at real time "there, little fucker did a feed, a really poor one too. he prolly jumped ship with me, the damn traitor"
"So a seperate operator." Samuel said. "Unless the guy you mentioned earlier was already feeding intel to the UN so they could stop you." Samuel glared at the screen as though it had personally offened him.
"it's likely he could have though i am thinking this is why our earth guy folded so easy, ever we are not all seeing." he mused on it for a moment before he realized something, he looked at the other "hey, don't talk shop to me!" he pushed the other away a bit "you are the hostage, don't get yourself confused unless you want to add yourself to the ever growing list of turn-coats"
"Not likely," Samuel said as though the idea itself offened him. "Your organization or whatever you want ot call it has something against my chi... my buildings."
he shrugged "either way" he stood up and taking the other by the arm pulled him to the door. "well it's time for lockdown, you can help or you can watch but you have to stay with me"
"If I have to stay with you, I might as well help." Samuel said with a sigh. He was not looking forward to this at all.
