it isn't size sweetie, it's dynamics, you should try different poses, then you can get an idea on how to shade and have things hang(though since i only have shown you my shitty art it doesn't mean much coming from me)

ok sweetie but don't get mad i've had 6 years to get nicer and still can't do it^^:
long and short of it you doll like a beginner, the lines are stiff and irregualar and look pasted on instead of like they were drawn all together, you have good color sense and can back a fair horse with your base choice but you need to get a better understanding on how fabric lays not only against itself but how it lays with gravity under it, i can help you find tutorials on that but it's one of those things you cannot mimic nly realize also i don't lke your shading, but that could just be your style though picking a lighting direction and sticking to it is a good idea(even if it's is hard sometimes) one of the girls i used to watch has nice tuts on that if you'd like a link as well you have a lot of potential sweetie and i really would like to see it realized, with some expirimenting you could find something great but that is a lot of practice and failed arts away |

I go to an arts school so critiques like that are a norm and expected. If they find something wrong with proportions, shading, etc... by god they tell you and it's better for you in the long run >.> I LIKE critiques like that cause they actually help. Now if you wouldn't mind... the links would be nice. I probably woulnd't read them but i'd look at the visual examples...i do better with visual than written explanations XD |

Critic on DA aren't that bad, it depends where you critic I guess lol. Personally the only 'bad' critic I received is on my Sephiroth and Aerith picture, but heck was he right about what he said, my shading was indeed weird on Aerith's coat thingie lol.

@Choco: lol I don't call that trashing my art. Trashing my art would be more akin of saying "You can't draw for shit" or "you suck and everything you did is wrong" at which point I'd want to punch you in the face and say that I have an arts background and schooling so I do know for the most part what I'm doing even though I may not be perfect.

Otherwise, speaking of trashing something, I think cosplay critic can be far worst, heck there was that girl on coscom who decided to tell everyone a certain person didn't make her cosplay but actually bought it from her, and apparently the 'bad girl who stole her merit' just hide her comment on DA so therefore she had no choice but to post there...I mean ok sure if it's just for 1 or 2 posts long, but it lasted for FOUR pages with her adding more stuff to it here and there. I don't care if the girl really said she made her cosplay while it was true or not, I know the girl and yet I won't engage in that convo, but now she actually delete ALL her coscom because of it (too many comments against her I take it), AND her DA as well because apparently the girl accusing her ALSO linked her DA to it. Anyway, that was my frustration of the day xD Though now apparently coscom's mod have seen it and deleted the thread, thanks godness! But that's call how to harass someone until they give up on everything...though personally if someone ever accuse me of not making my own cosplay I'm going to go take out WoL's shield and beat them all over the head with it until they're unconcious on the ground twitching for help... |
@Choco: Then I hope you can get your laptop fixed. And I now have 2 examples for pixeling and 1 example to help me better my digital colouring XD Thanks guys. Although now looking at those bigger pixel bases kinda makes me wasnt to make one...when I'm not so full with requests >.<
@Nefer: It's awsome if you can make your own cosplay outfit and make it look good but i think it's fine if you don't make your own. The only thing I care about in cosplaying is if the cosplay itself is CLOSE if not totally identical to the actual outfit >.> If it sucks butt, it sucks butt. If it's good it's good. The cosplay of Xellos that you saw me have I had bought and specially made from Hong Kong >.> and my dad made the staff for me from real wood and leather so it's an actual staff >.> And the wig I bought I had my friend cut into the exact hair style of the character.
