I'm working at a library!

It's just practicum right now, but I like it. :)

I'm finishing up Coraline, and have picked up a few more books, shorter ones, so I can get my assignment done faster. One of them is "Bunnicula Meets Edgar Allan Crow." With all the Gothic I've been looking at lately, I could't pass that one up.

awesome!!!

Practicum actually, but that's pretty fun because I'm not actually staff and so don't really have to do anything (though I keep to the usual schedule for everyone else) but shadow, but I'm learning stuff anyway. Though I will say this, handling books all day really dries your hands out. Hardcovers are much easier to deal with than paperbacks, though heavier.

trystan830 03-17-2019 10:12 PM

well that's interesting.

Quiet Man Cometh 03-18-2019 12:32 AM

Well, apart not drying out my skin, the dust covers mean the slide into the shelf more easily, they don't feel as 'ew,' they are easier to carry in a stack as they are less likely to flop, and they are less prone to getting mushed in a shelf, or having another book stuffed into its pages.

Save me from picture books though. They are large, awkward, heavy, and people borrow them en masse and therefore return them en masse. My poor back!

Finished Coraline. Onto Bunnicula and Goth Crow now. I need to read faster or I'll run out of assignment time.

Ugh, I keep forgetting to read. Too many craft projects to make...
XD

Quiet Man Cometh 03-19-2019 01:35 AM

I would like to do crafts but I've got so much reading. ;)

Derpy McBlueEyes 03-19-2019 01:40 AM

Derpy tugs at Kaderin's sleeve. "MAMA! WEAD ME A BOOK!"

trystan830 03-19-2019 10:04 AM

this is a list of my book counts on goodreads. 2008 was probably an incomplete year, since i started keeping track at the very end. but, let's play a game called "what year did trystan learn to crochet?" (interesting to note, 2011 was also my first NaNo year)

2008 - 28 books
2009 ‎- 54 books
2010 ‎- 92 books
2011 ‎- 110 books
2012 ‎- 52 books
2013 ‎- 41 books
2014 ‎- 56 books
2015 ‎- 31 books
2016 ‎- 32 books
2017 ‎- 46 books
2018 ‎- 37 books
2019 ‎- 10 books so far

so i can't always read and craft either XD

Kaderin Triste 03-19-2019 05:58 PM

But Derpy, I need to make you a shawl and an Easter basket!

Trystan: Sush you. Your slowest year is still more than 2 of my years combined...

trystan830 03-19-2019 09:21 PM

i was very surprised at that 110 books that year though...

I took the liberty of graphing your data. o-o

Wait. Why did I just do that? 8[ My brain saw data and wanted it put onto a chart!
<xD Ah well, at least a made it into a nice little picture of a sun over hills?

trystan830 03-20-2019 10:24 AM

oh that's awesome, Merskelly! =D

Merskelly Metalien 03-20-2019 04:09 PM

Thank you. ^U^ I could not stop myself. It's a chart. <xD Why? I'm so confuddled, as to why I drew a chart. I must really miss school. x'D

trystan830 03-20-2019 04:22 PM
