okay so that is a nice mix of genres.

I read so much! So I read mostly fiction, but have been reading some non-fiction lately. I will have to start checking our your reading list for 2017.

i've read a smattering of non-fiction as well... it's not as often as fiction though XD

I read American Ghost recently. Although it wasn't what I expected, I really liked it, the ghost story was not front and center, but it was a fascinating non-fiction read.

i'll have two biographies to read, hopefully this year: Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow; and one on Aaron Burr by Nancy Isenberg. i also have a book on my list to read called "The revenge of analog: real things and why they matter." for personal reasons (see my NaNo), i really like this title. XD

Moonshadow 01-14-2017 12:55 AM

Wow! you are writing a book? I have tried so many times, and I give up really quickly, it just doesn't keep my engaged.

Those are two interesting bios there.

I have The Devil in the White City as one of my to-read books this year.

trystan830 01-14-2017 01:00 AM

i've done NaNo in 2011, 12, 13, 14 and 16. the one from 2016 is linked in my sig - 'Untitled NaNo ~ Suggest a title!'

it's a .... uh, prequel to the one i write in 2014. yeah, we'll go with prequel. (i mean... subject matter makes is an actual prequel. one of the characters makes it kinda sequel-y. it's kinda timey-wimey.)

as for the bios, i blame Lin-Manuel Miranda and his little musical for me wanting to read them... XD

Moonshadow 01-14-2017 01:06 AM

yes I figured that, but it is an interesting time in history, and they were both certainly controversial.

One of the things that attracted me to hyperion is the time themes.
I believe that you can actually bend space and time, I believe in the Einstein-Rosen bridge theory. Time can be manipulated I believe and the book is about that.

trystan830 01-14-2017 01:08 AM

heh yep.

my 2013, 14, and 16 NaNos had to do with time travel. as much as time travel makes my brain hurt and leak out my ears, i really love it lots!

I think it is a theory that is becoming more and more accepted!

Goodnight trystan, I have a headache, again! :(

trystan830 01-14-2017 01:19 AM

cool!

and gah, headaches are no fun, i had one earlier tonight. g'night and sleep well!

Moonshadow 01-14-2017 11:56 PM

I think my headaches are migraines :(
They are so miserable when I get them.

trystan830 01-15-2017 12:00 AM

ugh, that's not good *hugs*

Moonshadow 01-15-2017 12:08 AM

thank you, I just went on webmd and I have some symptoms and not others, so I'm completely confused. Maybe its just feeling stressed, and anxiety. Anxiety can mimic so many symptoms from other physical ailments. I'm not going to worry about it. :)

trystan830 01-15-2017 12:18 AM

the joke about webmd is that every symptom somehow indicates cancer or you're gonna die. weirdly enough, i think it's oddly amusing XD

... i'm weird, i know

Moonshadow 01-15-2017 12:27 AM

Oh but I totally agree. Its like when I watched House, well every symptom/disease I saw on the show the next morning, I suffered from the same symptoms. Like I said I'm just going to forget about it, if it continues I will go see my GP.

trystan830 01-15-2017 12:31 AM

LOL, yeah!

and yeah, seeing the Dr is a good idea if it hangs around longer....
