Wow really? My mom pays about $550 a month here for rent. We've looked around and there are 2-bedroom apartments in the city for about the same price. If you wanted to you could also look for a roommate in the city so it will cut your rent in half if you get a 2 bedroom ;)

Yikes! But wouldn't it be more efficient if you guys relocated to a place in the city temporarily so you both could have jobs and save up twice as fast for a house?

Oh for sure! You and I sound like we're in nearly the same boat. I graduated from high school in 2011 and I've never had a job, and my parents literally have nothing either. No jobs, cars, driver's licenses, so I have to do it on my own. I live in a rural area where the local mill was shut down a few years ago and the area has suffered financially since then. I feel like crap too but we'll be moving to a bigger area pretty soon, I hope. Maybe I'll be able to find a cheap car so I can finally get my license. I haven't even started college yet because of the fees and costs, and the fact that I have no transportation and there is no public transport here. At least the city we're moving to has a college and more places to apply for jobs so that gives us more options. I'd do great starting off at a thrift store or somewhere like that but beggars can't be choosers, but I do feel like that's the only kind of place that will hire someone with no previous experience or mode of transportation.

Yeah that makes no sense at all. He's a dimwit. Actually both of them are on some level. Obama keeps cutting funds for education when that is the most important thing he should be funding. Jobs and education should be the main focus right now, not so much health even though that is important. That doesn't make much sense either. I'd rather have an educated professional operate on me than a learning student. Without proper education our society is going to go under. Japan has it figured out. Very strict about their schooling system over there, and look how intelligent they are. Education should be number 1, jobs number 2, and health number 3. Education is our ticket to jobs that improve our health.
